  1. Should your skin be mostly clear before starting the AHA? Or, can I use it when I am still breaking out?
  2. I was so excited about this regime three weeks ago, and now I just feel like quitting. It feels like my acne is worse than ever and my face feels dry and rough. I had a horrible second week breakout and then I thought it was uphill from there. However, I have broken out again and there seems to be no end in sight. I am afraid that all of this dry skin is just making my acne worse and there is nothing that I can do about it. I have used the Jojoba exfoliation technique and Dan's Moisturizer. I am
  3. Well, I like Dan's Moisturizer because it is the only thing that can make me look non-flaky. However, I have broken out in this rash on my neck and after reading in the reviews that this has happened to other people who are using the lotion, I figure that I should try eliminating it. First, do you think that the lotion caused the rash? Second, I am thinking about using the Oil of Olay sensitive skin lotion (without the SPF) at night. Since Dan recommends using Olay Sensitive Skin WITH SPF for
  4. How much Fish Oil/Omega 3s is a good amount to take on a daily basis?
  5. Hey King-- That is really helpful. I will let you know how it goes... Good luck with everything!
  6. Hey there. Sorry to hear about the eyes...that can be really scary. So, how is the 1/2 pump working? I have been tempted to try that as well...although I am not clear, this flaking is just so irritating. When you were flaking so much did you ever use any type of exfoliation technique? Just wondering. Well, good luck and keep us updated.
  7. Yeah, I was sorta having the same questions/problem. I just started to use the exoliation method and the other day it seemed to work wonders. However, today I used the exfoliation technique, cleansed, put on BP, and while I was waiting to put on the moisturizer I realized my face looked EVEN drier and flakier than normal. To the point where it was even difficult to put on the lotion. What is going on? I am in my second week...is it normal for it to be this dry and flaky and is there any reason w
  8. Thanks everyone! Yeah, I am trying to switch up my attitude a bit. I just read over my previous posts and the negativity is a bit overboard. I feel better about everything today. I am just going to keep plodding forward and tackle this problem head-on. Also, I bought Zinc, Probiotics, and Fish-Oil yesterday, so hopefully that will help. After all of the antibiotics I have been on I am sure that my body needs some good bacteria. This morning I did the jojoba oil exfoliation technique again and
  9. Wow! That is just so great. So, do you ever do the jojoba exfoliation before you cleanse? I am just trying to figure out a way to get all of these flakes and dead skin off of my face...and so far that seems like the best way. Also, do you ever still mix in some drops of jojoba oil with your moisturizer? THANKS!
  10. Thank you so much for your kind words King. They really mean a lot! I am not quite sure how to articulate this, but just knowing that someone else has or is going through this (and especially is now clear!) really helps. Hope you are doing well!
  11. Also, I just asked my mother and she said that in my 26 years this is the worst it has ever been. I want to cry.
  12. Day 11-- Well, hopefully I can get some advice here because I am starting to get very frustrated... First, of all, I stopped taking my antibiotics because I just couldn't bear the thought of having medication in my body anymore. Also, it is just a fact that the effectiveness wears off so it was just like delaying the inevitable. Anyway, I am hoping that taking those antibiotics for a few weeks and then just stopping them is one of the reasons I am breaking out so bad. I guess I also am in We
  13. Congratulations again!!! Your posts really give me inspiration to keep with the regime. I was just wondering whether you exfoliate every morning with the jojoba oil? Thanks!
  14. Ok, so I think I finally figured out how to properly do Kim's exfoliation method with the jojoba oil. I tried to do it in the shower....let's just say that does not work! My face definitely looked better after doing it (unfortunately tonight it is back to being flaky...ick). Anyway, I was just wondering how often it is ok to do this method?
  15. Congrats again. I have one more question for you about the jojoba oil. How quickly after you incorporated it did you start to break out...and was it everywhere or just in the places where you get acne? Also, after you stopped using it how long did it take you to stop breaking out? Thanks!
  16. Ok, I know that this might sound like a stupid question....but what is the best way to find out if Jojoba Oil is breaking me out? I know that most people are in love with this product, but I have heard some people say that they think it causes break outs. Since I already have active acne, how will I know if Jojoba Oil is the culprit. Would I notice a difference immediately if I switch mositurizers for a few days, or would it takes weeks to notice a difference? THANKS
  17. No, my acne right now is mostly just inflammatory (e.g. whiteheads, etc.). So it should work on that no matter what the cause?
  18. Ok, so throughout our lives we always hear not to pop a pimple. However, what really is the best thing to do? If you do it correctly, it seems like it can help the healing process. What do you think....if a zit is begging to be popped, is it best to leave it or pop it?
  19. I hope that the flaking gets better soon. So, are you all clear now except for the flakes?
  20. Great! Thanks for the input.
  21. This might be a sort of stupid question....but will this regime help no matter what type of acne I have? Specifically, I am a female in my mid-20s and I am pretty sure that my acne right now is hormonal. Will this regime still work if this is the cause?
  22. Hey King-- In the past I actually have had rather good luck with Coppertone Face Sunscreen - Oil Free. It doesn't feel wonderful on the skin, but hasn't made me break out either. You could either mix it with Dan's Moisturizer or just put on a light coating after the other moisturizer dries. Hope this helps...
  23. Is it ok to use neosporin on active pimples or healing pimples after using the BP and moisturizer? Has anyone tried this?
