Air, HUMIDITY, and Temperature control acne.
snow n surf replied to Nomadic Nick's topic in General acne discussion
That's really interesting Nick. Before I lived in the Eastern Sierra, I visited often in the winter and found that the dry cold climate made my skin clear up nicely. I thought that when i moved here it would have the same effect...but I've been living here for almost 2 years and still have acne. I live at 8,500ft above sea level The air is thin and very dry, it's considered "high desert". Sometimes winter can last for 8 months and the temperature in the winter averages about 35 degrees. Most of you have probably never heard of an "Ion Cleanse". http://www.ioncleansedetoxfootbath.com/the...ion_cleanse.htm I had never either and thought it was total bullshit. My manager does these cleanses as a side business and surprisingly has a lot of regular clients. My experience: Did my cleanse in the evening, it lasts for about 20 minutes. Throughout the cleanse I could actually feel tingling sensation in my feet like stuff was being drawn out through the pores. weird. First white stuff

My manager has an "IonCleanse" business and has recently added an "oxygen bar" to her treatment room. I thought IonCleanse was total bullshit at first, but actually after doing it noticed increased energy, feeling of well-being, etc... http://www.oxygenbars.com/ Most of you probably don't know what IonCleanse is...I had no idea either! But she says I have to do it routinely to notice a difference in my skin. I'm going to try this as well as her "Oxygen Bar"...ill let you know how it goes.

Take the No Picking Challenge with Me
snow n surf replied to BigPore's topic in Emotional and psychological effects of acne
Haven't picked for a whole week! YAY! I broke out a bit from being on my period and it's actually not as bad as it usually is because I haven't touched it. This could truly work. =D -
Be honest.

Lily I totally feel you. I just stopped picking and I've actually noticed change. My skin isn't as flakey, red and irritated as it was when I picked. I haven't picked in about a week so no guarantee yet... But i used to sit in front of the mirror after a shower for up to 30 minutes!! ALMOST EVERY DAY! Just picking at the tiniest things that NOBODY can see except me! I look back and wonder how I could be so ridiculous!?! I will pop a pimple if it absolutely needs to be popped....but as for picki -
I want to look good in the morning???
snow n surf replied to mustang88's topic in Cosmetics & grooming
I have the same problem with my boyfriend. We've been together for over a year and I'm sure he recognizes that I have acne. It's not THAT bad, but I'm still self conscious about it... We practically live together, so he always sees me in the morning. I wish i could get into the habit of washing my face EVERY night but I tend to apply light makeup after I shower-before bed! It's soooo bad, I know. But I still do it all the time because I don't want him to see my acne. =( I love that we spend a lo -
I've been told that birth control will help your acne. My sister has been using Nuvaring for a few months and her skin has improved a little bit. My only concern is gaining weight, and that the hormones may trigger cancers. My family has a history of breast cancer so i don't want to put myself at risk more than I already am... Who has tried birth control for acne and how did it work out??

I have been using physicians formula loose powder for over a year. I used to use BareMinerals, but it is such a rip off! So expensive, and so little in one jar!! PhysForm. has worked great for me, it's breathable, light and inexpensive, and a little goes and long way. They just recently came out with the Organics line, which I've been using for about 6 months(just the loose powder) I just purchased the pressed powder, blush, bronzer and concealer pen cause the store had a huge sale! And i absolu

sports and acne
snow n surf replied to DoSomething's topic in Emotional and psychological effects of acne
I ski, snowboard and snowmobile...all of which involve helmets, goggles, sweat, and cold, dry weather...which i know is horrible for my skin. I still do it because i absolutely love this lifestyle. What should I do to help my skin breathe a little more and have more moisture? any suggestions? -
My new years resolution was to not pick at my skin...let's just say that didn't work out as planned. It's almost February and I still haven't gone a day without picking at my face... I think about my skin more and more everyday and want to see a derm. but the closest one is 40miles away. I find myself evaluating everyone's skin and I actually envy those with beautiful flawless skin. Today, all I have thought about is how much I hate my skin. When I talked with my roommate about it, she just repl
