I have known about this site for years, and I've seen many different solutions, some are absolutely insane and unhealthy - but I do understand the frustration and psychological pain people are going through to find a solution. I used to get all types of acne, including cystic acne. I've gone to a dermatologist in the past and tried all the expensive prescriptions. I've tried ProActiv, I've tried it all.   2. My skin is looking better than it has in a long time. I'm quite pale, with oily skin which turns red very easily from irritation. I used to have moderate acne with some cystic acne. I have very mild acne right now, with old marks/shallow scars. I do wear makeup whenever I go out, so I'm sure it has contributed to my problem, but I would break out regardless.   4. Day 9 I have been maintaining the same regimen, except I have been using Burt's Bees Herbal Blemish stick (a sample from a kit) after toning. It seems to help speed up the healing. Although the texture of my skin is much better than it was- softer, more even tone, less redness- I still continue to break out.   5. Day 7 Last night I cleansed with Neutrogena, then MB Enzyme Cleansing Gel. Then I toned with straight lemon juice. Lemon is known to have antiseptic and antibacterial properties. I choose to only apply it at night however, because it does make my skin quite oily. I was going to do a mask but I decided to give my face a break. Day 6 Last night, I washed my face with Neutrogena Acne Wash twice (to wash off makeup), then I used a mud mask - Quene Helene Mint Julep Masque - to help unclog pores and tone down the oiliness (my skin has been espcially oily since starting this new regimen). I noticed that I had a bunch of small but bright red spots around my nose. Also a few on my chin, and a couple on my forehead. I toned with the lemon/rosewater, then applied BB's Res-Q to spots.   7. I have very oily skin and get recurring blackheads on my nose as well, but I find that regular use of facial masks helps greatly. Retin-A also helps, but for me the accompanying irritation is not worth it. For a cleanser, Neutrogena Oil-free Acne Wash works well, though it is drying, and must be followed by a soothing toner/moisturizer.   9. A bit of background: I had posted a regimen that I was doing a while back, but it ended up failing me for one reason or another (it was not an all natural regimen). I have created a new regimen for myself using only natural products. The reason I chose this route is because I felt I was using a lot of topicals and cleansers that were irritating my skin, making the acne worse. I had been using Retin-A, mud masks, BP, high end products, etc. But nothing seemed to provide a solid "cure" that lasted
  10. UPDATE: So I've changed a few things in my routine. My skin started to break out regularly in small red bumps all over and I knew something was amiss. The first suspect item in my routine was the Burt's Bees Day Cream. I experimented by leaving this out of the routine and replacing with a Mario Badescu product called Control Moisturizer for Oily Skin.   11. I'll also add that if you have oily skin, it's not a good idea to use products heavy with oils sitting on the skin all day. That said, the Burt's Bees Day Cream is quite heavy, only use a tiny amount, just enough to get a very thin layer on the skin. Also, avoid makeup (if you can help it) like the plague - particularly liquid foundations and liquid/cream concealer. I wanted to share this regimen because I, like many of you, have tried nearly every acne product out there (Retin-A, Differen, sulfer cleansers, Neutrogena, ProActiv, antibiotics, etc.) , and they all failed at some point.   13. I use Burt's Bees Citrus Facial Scrub and it feels quite gentle and leaves my skin feeling smooth and moisturized. If you use it, you have to make sure to mix a couple drops of water in your hand to make it easy to spread. I use this at night to remove makeup, and then use Mario Badescu Enzyme Cleansing Gel to remove any residue/traces of scrub. My skin has been transformed since I've started doing this.
