  1. I am 24 year old and have suffered from varying levels (mild to high/moderate) of acne for 10+ years. I was prescribed an oral antibiotic and topicals for several months. When those didn't do the job they increased the antibiotic, changed the topical, and gave me a hormonal treatment as well. Accutane was not discussed until my skin wasn't clear after 1 YEAR of treatment. Hang in there and try the different things your dr. prescribes. Something beside accutane may work...you just need to b
  2. Hi All! I have 7 more days on accutane. I just want to know what to expect after going off the accutane. Also, what type of skin care products should i start using?
  3. I know some people on hear don't recommend it...but i used biore pore strips. If you skin is already super-sensitive DO NOT use them. Mine wasn't and it helped get rid of them. I also made sure to exfoliate with a baby hair brush. Good Luck.
  4. I am on day 66 of 30 mg/2x day of sotret. Around day 30 i started getting blackheads something awful on my nose, chin, and forehead. I know most people recommend not using blackhead strips, but i did use them. I pulled them off slowly and only used them on non-dry areas. It did work. If my skin was super sensitive or peeling i would have never done it. Through the tazorac, differin, and Retin-A my skin never really peeled. I only have slightly dry cheeks with the accutane (i do have very
  5. Hi everyone! I am 24 year old and I suffered from mild-moderate acne for at least 10 years (tried every prescription tx out there..yada, yada, yada). I started accutane 2 months ago. After 2 weeks my face stopped being oily. During the 3rd week I got a few whiteheads that went away very quickly followed by several weeks of bad blackheads. I haven't had a breakout since. For the first time ever i can go out without makeup on. I just want to know...is this too good to be true? I am going to
  6. Hi...i know a lot of you have posted questions about drinking on accutane. My questions is similar except that i am older than a lot of you and not in college (also married). I don't go out "drinking" on weekends and i can't even remember the last time i was drunk. My question is...Is it okay to have a glass of wine a few nights a week? Before accutane, i would have 1 glass every night. I figured i should cut back, but how much? What do you guys think? What have you heard from your doctors
  7. Hi Experts! I am on day 5 of accutane for persistent mild/moderate acne. I typically have pretty oily skin but for the past 2 days it has been sooo greasy. Is this normal is it in my head? Maybe i'm just touching it too much. Anyways...it was so bad i had to wash my face in the middle of the day at work! My face and ears also feel sooo hot.
  8. Hi everyone! I am on day 4 of 60mg. of accutane. I am having no real side effects so far (except maybe OILIER skin). I am wondering if I am still going to be able to wear foundation etc. once the side effects kick in. Will it look flaky/gross etc? Any suggestions on makeup products that work?
  9. Hi everyone. I am on day 2 of 30mg accutane 2x/day. At about noon today i got a dull headache...not terrible, but definitely not comfortable. I tried drinking tons of water and also taking some motrin. Could this be related to the accutane or am i just paranoid? If it is related, any ways to help?
  10. Hello! I am starting accutane tomorrow and i'm a little nervous. I am expecting the worst for side effects and wanted to know the best products to cope with them. Also, are there any over-the-counter meds that should be avoided when taking accutane? I often take a tylenol PM or OTC sleep pill to help me fall asleep. Thanks!
  11. Hello! I am a 24 years old and have been dealing with acne for over 11 years. For the past year i have been on regimen of differin, duac, cephlex, yaz, and spiro. It has helped some but my derm wants me to try Accutane. I understand the MAJOR risks of becoming pregnant while on accutane, but i am wondering about its long term effects. If i become pregnant 2-3 months after stopping accutane, are there still risks to the baby? Does anyone have info on this? I am a newlywed so this informati
