  1. I can only tell you my experience with Proactive.....KILLED my face, burnt it to a crisp. I also do not have sensitive skin really and it reacted like that. My dermatologist HATES Proactive, she said it does clear up skin, temporarily, it also supresses bacteria in your face so that your face eventually EXPLODES.
  2. Update: okay so now I am 9 days post levulan/Blu-U and the peeling has ended. However I do seem to have redness still. Something I am not pleased with as you might imagine. I have a slight outline around my face, eyes and mouth. Also unlike with my pdt and having nice soft skin after I peeled with the Blu-U my skin feels......rough. That is the best I can think of to explain it. Not leathery, just.....rough. I have been drinking water like mad to hopefully help but no luck. I have my follow up a
  3. update: today is now 6 days post blu-u, my face is still red, and the harsh scabs have come off my chin, but now it feels tight and will most likely have to peel yet again. so my experience is that PDT is more painful in the beginning but heals faster, blu u is less painful but takes ages longer to heal.
  4. Last month I had my first round of treatment which was levulan with a hour incubation then PDT, had the treatment on Friday and by monday the redness was mostly gone and had mostly peeled. But not fully comfy with public outings till roughly 10 days had passed. well this last Friday I went in for Levulan and blu u, I got another 60 minutes of incubation and 12 minutes in the blu u. the pain wasnt nearly as bad in recovery but man ALIVE the redness is insane! it is now tuesday night and I still
  5. Sounds like it's working for you, good stuff! yesterday I went for my first Levulan and Blu U, sat for a hour of Levulan and then 12 minutes of blu u. Today my face is red and hurts same as yesterday but not NEARLY as bad as when i did my first round of Levulan and PDT, I was in AGONY the day after with that. This is just a super bad sunburn feeling, I also bought an additional $100 worth of super creams and gels this time to help with the drying out issue's I had last time. So all in all not
  6. dont know if it's normal but i did also experience blistering. i just assumed it was normal or alittle more harsh than normal as the stories on here prepped me for the worst case scenario. mine went away the next day after they popped and seeped for alittle while. sorry, gross i know.
  7. Well today is day 3 and I just woke up, thus far I am pain free, have not had to take any tylenol or Advil. I think today or tomorrow the peeling will begin, I must admit I was alittle sad to wake up and have no pain and then to look in the mirror and still see my face so bright red. It felt like it should have been normal, lol. Also from reading other poster's experiences I have relaized that i did not indeed have Blu U light after all but was instead given photodynamic therapy. I was confuzed
  8. Well today is abit of a differant story, VERY red, VERY painful, I have a spot on my chin with a blister on it that has been seeping. I expected this though so not scared or shocked. Have been popping tylenol like mad though and applying Polysporin, aloe vera plant and sunblock quite often. It feels like my upper cheeks are very close to blistering too which is alittle painful I must admit. I have found that soaking washcloths in cold chammomile tea then freezing them to apply on my face is g
  9. I will keep everyone updated but today was my first treatment with the levulan and blu U. Wasnt super painful, i do feel sunburnt and was alittle peeved that i wasnt told to purchase Polysporin beforehand to avoid drying out and hardening of skin, so I enjoyed THAT trip to drug store with red face I also purchased a SUPER crazy 60 sunblock with my 2 tubes of pain relief Polysporin and tylenol. I normally use Clarins UV plus (40 block) but it is mineral based and if my skin is dry at all it rea
