  1. Hello everyone. I'm a 25 year old woman and have been suffering with moderate acne for my entire adult life...I normally use Duac in the morning and Differein at night -- recently switched my cleanser from Clenia (made my face smell like sulfer -- disgusting) to Johsnon&Jonson's Purpose. Anyhow, I've always managed to keep it under control and my main trouble spots have always been my forehead, nose, and chin. A week ago I started on BC pills -- Reclipsen (not soley to treat my acne) for my

  3. I wouldn't worry about it too much. Your body can handle it for 7 days. Just enjoy your clear skin for the wedding and don't worry and trust your doctor. The derm gave my daughter prednisone for 7 days before a major event. It help somewhat but not like you are describing. I have heard of women taking that before their wedding to ensure clear skin.
  4. It has amazzzing results, let me tell you. I just got cortizone shots three days ago, after having three huge cyst-like inflamed zits, and within a matter of hours, their inflammation was completely gone... It's really good for those who have inflammations. My doctor put me on steroids and antibiotics for a week after the shots as well, to make sure the inflammations don't return.
  5. It's so unfair, I totally agree. I also find it frustrating that my family and friends who do have perfect skin don't seem to understand what I go through...they get irritated with me when I abstain from sweets or if I spend a lot of money on topical ointments, etc...they don't understand the embarrassment of going out in public with inflamed zits, or pimples marring your face. They roll their eyes if I get upset over a breakout and don't want to go to a big event... Sigh.
  6. Hello! So I've been an acne sufferer for years but have always managed to keep it under control and keep my skin relatively clear with topical ointments (Duac and Differen gels)...however, last week I got a huge breakout out of nowhere, which included three huge cyst-like zits on my face. I freaked out, naturally, and was even more alarmed because I'm going to a wedding in a week. I went to see my Dermatologist and he injected my zits with cortisone shots, and told me to take Azithromax in addi

  9. Okay, I know I'm going to sound really stupid asking this question, but I think all my fellow acne sufferers will understand the paranoia of worrying over breakouts. I have been using Retin-A and Differin (morning, night, respectively) for about a few months, and the results have been pretty good, for now. But this morning as I was spraying my hair with a leave in conditioner, I accidentally sprayed some on my face, as I was trying to spray my bangs. I washed it off immediately with water, but

  11. Thank you! Greatly appreciated. One thing I'm wondering, though -- I'm still taking Duac and Differin, while on this diet...is that going to prevent this detoxification that I'm attempting?
  12. PS. Based on your pictures, I can certainly say that you have seen great improvement in your complexion, within such a short span of time.
  13. It's nice to see that someone on here is basically in the same situation I am right now...as in, having changed your diet recently, and having had an unhealthy diet in the past, like myself. (Although you defintely seem to have more insight regarding your food choices, than I do.) Anyhow, I enjoyed reading this, and I think I shall be following your example with the green smoothies. All this talk of food is making me hungry!
