  1. Anyone know of any good remedies? I've been on tazorac .1 gel since September. I've never had much dryness, but since it's gotten cold I've had a lot of redness. I'm already using moisturizer, and I'm very careful not to apply too much tazorac. Any help is greatly appreciated.
  2. My derm told me Duac is better, but she prescribed me Benzaclin instead since it's cheaper, and I don't have insurance.
  3. Hi, I've been on tazorac since September and I've recently been using Paula's choice BHA along with it. At night I've been washing my face, waiting about 10 minutes, applying BHA, waiting about 10 minutes, applying moisturizer, then waiting about half an hour and finally applying the tazorac. Does this sound right? The tazorac website says to apply moisturizer before applying tazorac. I've on .1 gel by the way.

  5. Used to be. Loved Pall Mall non-filter and Marlboro Reds. I never had an acne problem until about a year ago when I quit.
  6. My forehead is my only problem area. How much tazorac gel should I be using?
  7. If your skin's not too sensitive you could try the gel. It's stronger than the cream.
  8. Check drugstore.com for a ballpark figure. It'll depend on whether you're using gel or cream, and what strength. Like most prescriptions, without insurance it's going to be pretty darn expensive.
  9. So I've been on taz .1 gel for 3 and a half weeks, switched over from tretonoin .025 cream. No real initial breakout, just some redness which has dissipated a lot. But ever since I've been on taz my skin has been oily as all get out. Benzoyl peroxide helps keep my skin relatively normal looking. My question is, I know BP and taz can't be used at the same time, but how time between when I was off the BP and I apply taz? Right now I usually wash my face really well with Basis about an hour bef
  10. I guess it's not that big of a deal, was just curious if anyone else has noticed this. I've been on .1 gel since last Thursday. Not a lot of irritation, my skin;s just as oily as all get out.
  11. Try to keep in mind too when you go that while she may have the medical degree you're paying to be there. You have a right to a say in your treatment. The last Derm I went to looked at my face and said "it doesn't look that bad to me" and then wrote me a few prescriptions and shooed me out the door. She spent more time bitching at me about sun exposure ( I have a lot of freckles from bad sunburns from when I was a kid) than aboout treating my acne. Never again.
  12. You could always try using it more than once a day too. Just before careful. I was using 10% for a week or two and it was great. Then one day my skin dried out out of nowhere and was peeling like crazy. Just cause it's not drying you out now doesn't mean it never will.
  13. speaking of retin-a and propecia... My old derm had no problem writing me a script for propecia. Unfortunately that's what's made me break out. When I went back he wrote me a prescription for retin-a. It shouldn't be hard to get. It's a very safe medication.
  14. I hope my skin looks that good at 48. I hope I have that much hair too!
