  1. I started Differin (.3% gel) maybe a month and a half ago. I got my initial breakout instantly and boy was it bad. I was in tears for two weeks and was exceptionally close to giving up. My face hurt, both from burning, dryness, and the acne itself. I think my years of Epiduo made it work even faster for me. I stuck with it though, and now my marks and acne have improved tenfold and is so clearly improving every day. I would say persevere because what else do you have? Even if you're so certain
  2. Yes! I'm currently using Peter Thomas Roth's CC Cream (SPF 30) from Sephora and I love it! It saved me from a particularly bad and painful initial breakout a few months ago. It is $48, however, but since my skin color is next to impossible for makeup brands besides Bobbi Brown to match (bi-racial here). I wouldn't recommend it if you are fair because I'm in the middle shade and it's even a little dark for me. I have heard that the Lorac CC cream is especially thick, but I would personally ju
  3. No, I feel like my Epiduo directions were the same as my directions for Differin in that it's a pea-sized amount all over your face. I then only spot treated with it when I was clear(er). Because you're nearing the three-month mark, I'd evaluate if you feel like you're close to improvement or not and talk to your derm (you probably have/had a three month appointment?)
  4. I agree! I just bought it after my IB from Differin, and it's been a godsend. I still have to use concealer overtop, but it's saved me at least 5-10 minutes in my morning routine. I used to just spot conceal, but since I've broken out, it was taking me way too long to cover everything, then put on powder, then recover whatever the powder wiped off. It's great for the price, too, definitely lighter than my Bobbi Brown Tinted Moisturizer, which felt like a mask on my face, and barely covered
  5. What does your acne look like? Is it widespread or is it more spotty, with pimples/dark marks dotted around? If it's widespread, I'd recommend mineral makeup and not trying to conceal everything. If if it's more spotted, I'd recommend finding a good concealer and only spot concealing, not trying to cover your entire face with foundation, and just dusting a setting powder over that. If you're comfortable going without makeup, then obviously that would be the best option!
  6. I know about the initial breakout, but I just didn't realize it could happen in week one. My derm was encouraged, but I'm not sure how much I trust her to not just be saying that. Either way, she told me to keep going. I used Epiduo+Doxy about 3-4 years ago, so I don't remember exactly, but I remember at my 3 month point, I was significantly better, but still not great. I want to say it was at 6 months that I finished and only used Epiduo to spot treat and help fade dark marks.
  7. I'm calling my doctor, but I'm pretty sure there's no way the IB has come so quickly. My face hasn't looked this bad in years. I used Epiduo and Doxy, cleared up, and now have a little inflamed acne back. But now it's come back full force, all over my face, which it's never been. I'm currently on Differin .3 and Doxy, but today marks exactly a week. I still have a tube of Epiduo, so I'm wondering if I should just go back to that with the Doxy, or should I stick with Differin? My face is dry
  8. I have there itchy whiteheads along the top of my forehead, right at my hairline in about a three-inch radius. I've made sure to note to wash alone my hairline with my cleanser, so it's not dirt built up. I don't think it's my hair products because it's localized along my left part. What could they be from? Putting Epiduo has only made it worse so I've quit using that on anything but infrequent pimples.
  9. That's awesome. Burn Notice = FTW. I love that show.
  10. I use their Almost Power compact makeup. It's all right. It doesn't cover my marks well but during school I'm not too worried about looking perfect. It's easy enough to go to the bathroom, wipe off access and reapply without looking horrible. I bought some of their foundation for acne-scar corrections but there wasn't a shade to match me and the lady insisted the one she got me was right. So I bought it. Used it about 5 times before giving up. Great consistency though! I'd make sure to have t
  11. Have bought more makeup in a year than my mother has in a lifetime. Enjoy reading/napping more because it distracts me from remembering how bad I looked last time I checked. Always wear my hair down. ALWAYS. When I laugh, I laugh looking down. I listen in on conversations, not join them.
  12. I think the idea is that he doesn't have flawless-poreless skin and yet he is a clear front runner. On the other hand, he is still gorgeous.
  13. I get a lot of the random people. When I was younger, my parents said whenever they went out with me (around age 1-3 or so) someone would come up to say something about how beautiful I was. I guess in Illinois people just weren't used to mixed kids. Maybe I was exotic? Last week I was getting my ticket for the Metro into DC and some lady (crazy lady, no doubt) came up to my parents and pointed at me saying: "Such a pretty girl!" Hopefully she wasn't joking... And that very same day, I was wa
  14. Sulfer Soap. No better than any other soap. Feels nice, though, I'm not going to lie. I like to use it in the shower :] Topical Clindamycine. It's nice, but it a lot like using Rubbing Alcohol. It just dries stuff out. You'll probably get something stronger later. Doxy has worked wonders for me so far. Odd I've gotten all the same stuff as you. Good luck! It's going to look a little better before getting worse. I'm going to warn you now.
  15. Today someone told me that whenever I laugh, I look at the ground. I knew I did this, but didn't know it was obvious to others. I want to change that, but I can't. I'm just... not nice to look at. Do you ever tell yourself things to make sure you don't look down? Got any tips for me? By the end of the school day, I'm just too embarrassed about my skin! (My makeup melts off)
