  1. No problem, without your thread I wouldn't have found it, I saw that article then began researching it, from that it basically says that people who developed folliculitis after chemical burns or fires etc (sun burn would be the same i'd imagine) that they began to use dermaveen and it helped greatly. One woman said it completely cleared her in about a month and she only uses it if it flares up at times. I'm waiting for mine, should be here tomorrow, no antibiotics or topical cream etc will cu
  2. yeah as i said in my other thread i'm sure that the chemical burns i was giving myself with panoxyl wash (10% BP) has caused this on my body, i've been treating my skin normally for about 2 months and it's no sign of stopping as yet, really hope the skin regenerates and stops putting so much sebum onto the surface soon. Have a look at this: http://bcbsma.medscape.com/viewarticle/474847_4 i've ordered some of the dermaveen wash, this would explain why my cultures and medication have had

  4. Will do lexie, mines not acne at all, it just looks like a rash, it doesn't scar. I tried nizoral when i first saw my derm, that and itraconazole and it did nothing after 4 weeks of it, two cultures showed no germs that's why he's doing a biopsy next. He said it could be a rare form of folliculitis that is caused by white blood cells in the follicle. I think i fucked my skin up right royally when i did used to get real spots on it, i was leaving panoxyl wash (10% BP) on overnight and my ski
  5. thanks white fox, it's always difficult as i can't imagine not being with this crap on me and when i try something i expect results in a few days or i think it's not working, gonng stick with this regimen and keep my fingers crossed that the skin biopsy shows something. the allergy test looked at my candida levels, although some of the things i was allergic to were consistant with candida it was only at just above normal level apparently. However, she said it might be buried so far in the gu
  6. Ok so it turns out i've quite a severe allergy to dairy products, i've been off it ever since so hopefully it will start to get better. i've stopped the trimethoprim, they were doing jack sh*t to be honest after 5 weeks, if anything they made it worse. The girl at the allergy test also gave me some probiotics to be taken twice daily, still going to see my derm in early september for my skin biopsy, if that doesn't present any cause then i really don't have a clue what i'm going to do. The pro
  7. the first pic is of my left shoulder, i've tried sulphur and salicylic acid before and they did nothing. I was on accutane when i actually had spots, i'm certain this is folliculitis, they're not just red lumps but all whiteheads and they don't scar, that's not acne as far as i remember. Got my allergy test in 3 hours so i'll let you know, although i know it's not going to do anything sods law
  8. thanks for the response, however both cultures i've had have returned negative for any harmful germs?! so surely an anti bac soap won't do anything? I'm currently using simple soap but it's terrible at the mo
  9. I'm currently undertaking treatment for folliculitis as people may know from my other posts, two cultures and no results at all for any germs, nizoral, itraconazole etc didn't work and it appears trimethoprim doesn't either after 4 weeks, got a skin biopsy in the first week of september, told me to carry on with trimethoprim until then. I found this place http://www.allergytest-london.co.uk/TheTest.html, booked in for Friday for £65, at least now i'll know for sure if it's not an allergy, wond
  10. not true at all, i've been diagnosed with folliculitis, nizoral etc hasn't touched it and two cultures have come back negative but it is folliculitis
  11. Ok so went back yesterday, said he wants to do a skin biopsy on me in about a month after i've completed the trimethoprim course (he also upped the dose to 3 x 200mg a day), said it could be a very rare case caused by white blood cells getting into the follicles?! I'm so depressed as I'm beginning to realise I'm going to be stuck with this for life
  12. Ok so from my other thread i've basically seen a derm for folliculitis on my upper body, first time took a culture, put on nizoral and intraconazole - nothing happened. Second time, was told no germs present, second culture taken and put on trimethoprim - it's improved a bit but not as much as i'd want by a long way, less white heads though. I'm seeing my derm again sat, got a letter from him saying my culture returned 'not shown any worrisome micro-organism, most reassuring'. Any thoughts?
  13. do a search on this site for "oil of oregano". i used the medicinal grade stuff topically to cure my folliculitis, in combination with other anti-fungals. good luck. Thanks for all the tips guys, how long have you been using oregano oil for? I mean did it come back after a while, my body gets immune to treatments so quickly! Going back to my derm next sat, he took a second culture so hopefully this time the germs might've been present in the samples he took I feel disgusting!
  14. I'm starting to think I may have a food allergy?! My folliculitis doesn't scar, just white heads that pop with ease that cover my shoulders, upper back and chest?! found this about gluten intolerance http://www.glutenfreeforum.com/lofiversion...php/t23524.html anyone?! Please?! Could it be Dermatitis Herpetiformis?!
