  1. You sir, are a freak...but then again...aren't we all? Yes. It is an insecurity thing. Nah baby, its a SEXY thing.
  2. Girls with acne are SO HOT... I think what I like about it is the fact that conforming to a beauty standard out of utter fear is, for the most part, one of the largest chunks of a woman's life. It drives men as well, but not to the same extent. Doesn't it ever bore anyone? Hmm...I'm sort of rambling...what am I getting at?... Ok first off, I'm SUPER attracted to women. I LOVE women. And when I say women, I mean it in the most general way. I like the ordinary, the flawed, the norm, so to spea
  3. Yeah I've just got some small areas of super faded red marks right now. Throw a couple days without shaving on, looks like I've never had acne. Point is...LOTS of guys are down. Don't doubt it. just how it is.
  4. Its an absolute crapshoot man. Don't ever listen to people who use words like "IT IS" or "IT DOES" or "100%". No one really knows whats up with acne and no one knows what your skin is like. In my experience, facial hair did not help my acne in the least. If anything it made it worse. My facial acne is only on my jaw-line right where I shave so when I break out I'm trying to avoid shaving over zits which SUCKS. Because of this I have scarred very slightly in the area where I shave. I have h
  5. OH YEAH. I'm in the exact same boat. I've been on the stuff for about 2 and a half months and it is nothing less than a real ass kicker. That stuff is damn effective at stopping the breakouts. I really haven't had a "problem zit" since I've started...knocking on wood... But yes absolutely its taking my marks a LONG LONG LONG LONG time to fade. They're definately doing pretty good right now. I'd say another month or two and I should be looking even enough. But then again, my skin has always
  6. I think acne on girls is HOT And I'm not kidding. Seriously I think its sexy as hell. I'm shooting you people as straight as it gets. If its like REAAALLLY overboard out of control then it simply needs to be controlled. But bottom line, acne on a girl...sorta gets my motor going. And its not at all about some lust for insecurity. I personally put zits on the same level as dimples/freckles/moles. Ads character...a sexy sorta character... I also am confident in saying that more women find me at
  7. Thanks... Were you able to ween off of it? And were you able to suppress it afterwards with just BP?
  8. HAVE JUST BEEN PUT ON MINOCYCLINE. ADVICE PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE. Hi everyone. I have just been put on minocycline. AGE: 25 Sex: Male ACNE LOCATIONS/SEVERITY: Chest - Severe cystic. However, not widespread. about 6"x 6" area in center of chest. Quite painful. Face - Mild/Moderate pustular (but doing quite well on benzaclin 2x daily). Have used just about everything on acne short of 'tane and antibiotics. QUESTION: 1. Does this stuff give an initial breakout? The benzaclin has really help

  10. Sup people! So so so...so basically over the winter my acne was WAY more under control than it is right now and I was able to be FAR more lazy with my regimen. I'd say the stretch between November and April were pretty much a constant mellow. My acne didn't clear (like it NEVER does) but it just got nice and mellow. You know what I mean by mellow right? Acne that doesn't jump right out at you when you look in the mirror, not super inflamed. Just mellow. "Relaxing acne" hahaha. Made me think my
  11. Let's see. . . neither derm I saw in my teens thought my acne was bad enough for Accutane initially. The derm I saw later eventually saw how my skin just didn't really respond to anything he was giving to me, so he actually brought it up to me. I ultimately did three courses of Accutane over the course of several years, of which the last one was a low-dose course. I think I was 24 when I took that last course. It seemed like I would clear up for a while after taking a course and then it woul
  12. This is a good point. Call the derm's office and ask if they prescribe Accutane. Many don't because they need some sort of special permit in the US. I think it's nice to have it as an option. There are effective laser treatments for acne too, but in the US, insurance usually doesn't cover it. Accutane is typically covered. Very interesting...I did not know that there were derm offices that can't prescribe accutane. Just so we're clear though...I am a candidate for accutane based on
  13. Thank you very much for the replies. I truly value them. It seems that we're on similar modes of thinking about the problem. That makes me feel good. My current regimen is 3 months on benzaclin (mornings) and tazorac (evenings) with cetaphil face wash and moisterizer. Not really cuttin' it as per usual. Yes I have only done topicals over the years. I have yet to put something in my mouth for acne. So I have another question to ask of you: I'm seeing a brand new derm in 2 weeks. I can't go to m
  14. Hello all. I'M BR AND I HAVE ACNE! haha I feel like I'm at an AA meeting... Anyway, first time posting. I've been reading this board for a little while and you all seem to be very smart, caring, and well informed people. I feel as though I may have learned much more from what I have read here than in a doctor or dermatologist's office and I thank you all for that. SO withough further brown-nosin... MY ACNE STORY: Kicked in when I was about 13. Age 13 - 15: Typically, started mild, nothing t
