  1. We all go through hard-times in our lives, whether it's acne, relationships, family, job, etc. What are some of YOUR favorite quotes that have helped you through those rough patches in life? Here are mine: "When one door closes, another one opens." "Life's a bitch then you get over it." "You miss 100% of the shots you don't take."
  2. Damn man, I can feel your pain. I wish I could give you accutane right now haha. I really hope you get it soon and feel better about yourself. Goodluck man...
  3. Ah man...that's cruel. What kind of dosage were you on and how long were each of your cycles?
  4. I'm sure she really was being nice since acne was a big deal for you. I wouldn't think too much about it.
  5. Well, I took accutane for six months and cleared up nicely. I still get the occassional blemish here and there but nothing too bad. There's a big chance your red-marks will not fade while you're on but don't get discouraged. Just remember, the important factor is the end result. Stay the course all the way through and you'll see great results. Goodluck!
  6. I bet you won't curse God when you're clear again.
  7. Good job and keep it up. Acne will be dead and done soon.
  8. I give you props man. 12 hours a day can be taxing on your mind and body - I wouldn't be able to do it. I know you're tired all the time but try to exercise as much as possible. Not to insult your intelligence, but it will help your body conserve more energy, making it more efficient. In turn, you may start to feel more energetic during the day.
  9. Hang in there man. Let accutane do it's job.
  10. I already understand acne and have seen a dermatologist. This is why I don't understand why I continue to get more acne. It doesn't add up. I do everything I am supposed to do and it still keeps coming back. That is my issue with it. It doesn't make sense to me. I have conquered many seemingly impossible things in my life. I pulled myself out of poverty by working my way through school, I even ran the Boston marathon. I should be able to conquer this. I understand your pain. Acne can
  11. Please, do not let acne defeat you. I know it's difficult but truthfully, most of it is in your head. Adult onset acne has the potential to destroy a person's confidence, especially if you've been clear all your life. It can be traumatizing because it comes on so fast and severe. Just hang in there and keep fighting because you'll find something that works and everything will be back to the way it was. And of course make sure you've exhausted all of your options before you even consider giving u
  12. Perhaps you should see a dermatologist. I'm sure they can explain acne to you in text-book terms.
  13. You're probably over-irritating your skin which is causing those unexplained breakouts. Just wash with something gentle, like J&J general purpose, once or twice a day. You have to be really gentle.
  14. I'm really sorry to hear this. You ran accutane twice? That's harsh man. I don't really know what to tell you except give tane another go. I've heard some people had to do 4 - 5 accutane cycles before they stayed clear. Just don't ever give up man.
  15. I feel for you but like I said, don't let it get to you. They're just plain ol' ignorant. Don't even argue with them. Just say "Ok, sorry" and go about your business.
  16. Hey, don't let that get you down. Rejection is a part of life and it happens to the best of us. I would of given up a long time ago if I let it get to me - haha. You should move on, continue being her friend, and get out and meet some more people.
  17. It depends who it is. If I didn't know you that well or just met you, you wouldn't notice as much. However, people who are close to me(ie. family, friends), would know how I looked before I had acne so they'd notice it more. They'd already have that mental image of me when I was clear. Also, people that actually have acne will notice another with acne more than those who don't have it. They point out the flaws in other people because of their own flaws. I guess it's just natural. I even did it m
  18. I'm more focused on my career, friends, and family because I don't care how good I look anymore.
  19. If I were you, I wouldn't bring up the past unless she asked me about it. And of course hook up with her again if you're still interested.
  20. It's understandable. They just don't know what they're talking about. When I went home on vacation a couple of years ago(my acne was BAD), my parents were in awe. My dad actually thought I wasn't showering because I had it all over my body as well as my face.
  21. Thanks a lot! :) It can be hard. I'm always striving to look forward even though the past rears it's ugly head every once and a while. Thanks tasty. You just finished tane - how did that workout for you? Well I'm 100% clear so guess you could say it worked great. Congratulations...hope it stays that way.
  22. I doubt it had anything to do with your skin or how you look. It's probably your personality...arrogance is a turn-off. At least to me that is.
  23. Man, you're not ugly at all...far from it. I think you need to go out and meet some woman.
  24. For the most part, yes. I don't think I really had a choice...
