  1. Hello, I've had a few spots on the right side of my jawline for the past month. They are different from the cysts and whiteheads I was getting earlier this year. These ones, they are pretty much flat, totally painless, and appear to have pus under the skin. The pus (if it is pus) has not surfaced for any one of these spots. I say it could be pus only because the spot has a white colour under the skin. If it is pus, should I help them along by gently squeezing to see if the pus will surface? It's
  2. This may sound cold, but I do not recommend lying about your medical history just to get a prescription. Switching to another dermatologist does seem to be necessary in your case. I think it's particularly hard for people who used to have nice skin to battle acne. Not only are you not used to the blemishes, but they seem tenfold worse than people who have had acne all their lives. The only encouragement I can give you is that you should keep trying and not give up. I, too, have seen my skin tak

    Diet and my Acne

I, too, have been trying to monitor my diet and correlate it to my breakouts. I've cut down on seafood, fried foods, and dairy products mostly. In addition to this, I would eat at least 1 serving of fruit (banana, black berries) per day. I'm 24 right now, and I am in a situation similar to yours. That is, I've never had acne prior to this. So far, I cannot say that the diet has helped me. Yes, I have had less breakouts, but that could be the BP working. I've gone days with the diet I've ment
  4. Absolutely. I was so depressed that I slept with my face down right on the sofa where my cats sleep. Since then, however, I have been careful in not touching my face or sleeping with my sides touching the pillow. Quite honestly, I don't think the dermatologists know what's wrong with me. I tend to think this has nothing to do with oil production (I have dry skin). The BP seems to have limited breakouts (it's really hard to know because I don't have that many), but I don't know if it's the BP w
  5. Thanks for the replies. I didn't get any new acne for awhile, but now a few new ones have popped up. Not quiet big cysts (I can see pus), but still hurt like heck. I've never considered myself a very stressful person, but you are right: I didn't sleep because of some personal problems. My dermatologists do not take this very seriously because, well, my acne is concentrated along my jawline, and I do not get more than 4 or 5. But next time I see him I would definitely mention this Differin thin
  6. (I posted this under "Adult Acne" as well. I'm not quite sure which forum this should fall under.) Hi, I've been going to a few dermatologists and haven't had much success with my acne. I'm hoping someone here could help me with some answers. I'm a 24 year old male and have NEVER had any problems with acne until the past few months. All throughout my teenage years I had less than 10 breakouts. But about 6 months ago, I went a week with less than 4 hours of sleep/night; that's when my acne star

They are bi
