  1. I started feeling dried out around the 7th or 8th day I think...as for the oil...it was definitely gone by the end of the second week, and I started out on 20mg of Sotret
  2. I don't believe that for a minute. My mother and both of her sisters had acne, my grandfather had acne, my brother has acne, my cousins have acne. You will never convince me that acne cannot be linked to genetics. Acne is a disease, just like high blood pressure and high cholesterol. It is something that can be passed down from generation to generation and that is a FACT. I'm sure a lot of people here agree with me that healthy people can have acne, and people who just eat junk food all day
  3. I don't think you can just write off prescriptions and other medications. Some people have acne because of genetics, not because they are unhealthy or unclean. I think if people are looking to do something for mild acne, they should look at Dan's regimen, which also clearly states that washing your face 2 times a day is plenty, and any more than that is stressful to your skin.
  4. I have too. Especially when I was totally against taking accutane, I would just pray and pray that my acne would go away so I wouldn't have to take it...unfortunately that didn't work and now I'm on accutane!
  5. Hey! I just read your blog and we started on the same day =) I'm 18, but I feel exactly the same way as you do about your acne, it was never really a problem and I never tried to hide it until the cameras came out...ugh! How is everything going for you? I'm only on 20mg for now, but I have been getting much better...now I just have to get rid of these red marks. As for moisturizer, I use Cetaphil daily cleanser for dry/sensitive skin in the morning and at night, I use aquaphor ALL the time-
  6. Just dropping by to say 'hey!' I started two days after you, how is your treatment going so far?

  7. I am also taking 20 mg daily and have (according to this site) moderate acne. I have taken 19 pill as of this evening (8pm EST) and I can definitely see the difference. Obviously my face is not completely clear, but I have been having fairly mild breakouts, maybe one or two pimples every 2-3 days on average. I did have a slight IB, especially on my chin and on the sides of my mouth around the 8th day but that went away by the 14th day. I am also using cetaphil for dry/sensitive skin and I lo
  8. This can go either way, but since I tend to think of guys as the pursuers, which I believe they should be, all of the girls are apples on a tree, and *most* guys are just to scared to climb the big old apple tree, so they pick up the ones off the ground and sometimes those are rotten or have some bugs in them, or they will reach up and get the ones that are close to the bottom, and those are good but just not as amazing as the apples at the top of the tree. If only guys weren't so afraid to cli
  9. Just dropping by to say welcome. I'm pretty new here too, and just started on accutane (sotret) about 3 weeks ago.

  10. Laura, im lauren :) . just droppin in to say hello

  11. I just started about two weeks ago and my derm prescribed 1 20mg pill per day, so you are definitely not the only one. I have been taking it with supper since that is generally my fattiest meal of the day and it has been working pretty well. The side effects are not too bad yet, my lips are pretty dry but I keep Aquaphor on them all the time. I put a lot on before I go to bed and they are usually still pretty moist when I wake up. Hopefully everything works out for you!
  12. My derm put my on zythromax (sp?) in order to minimize the IB. I take 150mg three times a week and I noticed that I broke out a little bit more over the first weekend when I hadn't taken the Zythromax.
  13. Hope everything gets better for you! I started a little more than 2 weeks ago and my derm started me on 20mg a day to minimize the IB. It sounds like the high dose is shocking your system!

  14. hey!

I was reading your blog earlier, and it sounds like that baking soda paste worked wonders! Where do you go to school? I go to Lehigh University in Pennsylvania.
