  1. dont use bp because your skin should be too fragile i get a few almost everyday in little groups, if they too much of an eyesore then pop them carefully
  2. I started accutane two weeks and 4 days ago. Im starting on the 40mg daily dose and i take 2x 20mg capsules day and night. In the first week my face was not oily anymore but i had no dry skin- only on day 8 did i see my lips dry out. Week two saw some dry skin around cheeks and chin but my t-zone was sort of perfect (not dry or oily) but still has some acne on it. Also during this week my initial breakout started, since then i get new whiteheads almost everyday around my chin in a little group
  3. Hey, i've been taking Roaccutane for 7 days now. Im starting on the 40mg low dose. I know the time frame it takes for Roaccutane to start working but i would like some help. I have had the initial breakout (i hope) but my skin hasnt got dry and flaky yet - does this normally take longer? I wake up, wash my face as usual and still feel a little oil here and there but i have to admit it does seem like much less. So anybody who had some experience, your comments would be welcomed.
  4. In my other post today i was just praising my derm for being so understanding, and just feeling relieved that my family knows how my acne is affecting me and have helped me alot. Basically, its so much better teaming up with a derm or doctor to fight acne and have the support of your family. Dont sit in your room, reading about products that helped other people and ordering them online. They fail most of the time when YOU give them a go and you feel more depressed listening to other people's suc
  5. Yeah mine was quite moderate. On a scale from A-K (picture book of acne) he rated me a F. He said i was at risk of scarring soon so it was needed and wham, i have it ^_^
  6. I've browsed through lots of sites, forums and places with people talking about their acne. Its a hard place, people have different products that worked for them, others dont work, some people try everything, some are too expensive for people, depression, anger and the whole acne phase is just really stressful. Im just writing to try and help anyone who was like me, and spent money on a lot of treatments and tried lots of thing recommended by others which never did work. You hear amazing succe
  7. When i first came on here i was so confused. We have Dan talking about his regimen, people coming up with home made remedies, anti-biotics, creams/lotions and surgery. This is just a quick poll to see what helped other people's acne. Im on minocycline right now and will probably be on accutane in a month or so If something isnt in the poll then just reply and i'll put it up P.S I know its hard because its only restricted to one choice, but think about what helped most. With most of us its
  8. I just finished exams at college. My acne has gotten worse and my doctor gave me minocycline and 5% benzoyl peroxide. I asked for accutane but he said come back in a month for a check up to see if he could refer me to a dermatologist. I've been on it for a week now and haven't seen a difference. My exams are over and now we go back to school. I think the benzoyl peroxide made my skin even redder and inflamed. I've been staying at home the past few days because of my acne. I told my parents that
  9. Does a moisturiser affect the work of benzoyl peroxide cream? When i use BP and a moisturiser my acne looks really red and even worse. P.S How long do anti-biotics like Minocycline take to have an affect. My doc said i need that first and then maybe erythromycine after before im even considered for accutane. Then he goes, you probably will need accutane. WHAT Why put me through another 2-3 months of this. Im really struggling and acne has ruined my life
  10. I totally hear you but finishing the testing is needed to ensure the safety of patients. But so far everything seems great and it could really be a godsend. People, including myself, have just tested it. It has a very mild sebum reducing property but that's about it. Worked nothing on acne I dont believe you

  12. SMT D002 The codename given to a drug that could possibly be the cure for acne. Initial tests have confirmed it does the job successfully without ANY side effects. It could well replace Accutane as the 'gold standard' of acne treatment. It has shown to reduce sebum production by 90% and was tested at Oxford University, England. The major advantage being no side affects unlike Accutane. Expect it to be commerically available within the next few years if the last few tests yield positive result

  14. I have acne on my face only. Im really not sure what type it is and what to do about it. Can somebody tell me what products i could use to stop it. Symptoms Red marks around cheeks. Bumpy red spots, can feel them as you run hand across face. Vary in size, some are small and others are bigger. Also, sometimes they hurt when pressed, feels like my skin is hurting from underneath. Before they form you can feel a small bump and they grow. Its not the spots with the white bit sticking out but more
