  1. Thank you for the replies. As always, I do really appreciate the support. All the best! GO
  2. Hi All, I don't know if you remember me. Hopefully you do. I'm doing my 3rd month of tane soon, 2nd round. In some ways this second time around has been worse. Luckily I avoided an initial breakout. Thank god. But, my lips have never been more chapped in my life. I'm talking: the skin off of my lips is just peeling right off. Not to mention, the corners of my mouth are awfully dry. They look like they have sores. I'm not happy. Also, the insides of my nose are so dry. I have crusty red mucuous.
  3. Hey Maj, Thanks for the kind words. Can I ask you some personal questions? Did you have acne in your teens? When did it begin for you? Thanks, GO
  4. Hi All, I've just been prescribed my second course of tane. I start next week. Lovely. I can't believe i'm going through all of this all over again. The biggest piece of advice I can give anyone out there is , don't stop living whether on tane or not. I put my life on hold for so long. Don't waste your life! I will keep you updated on what's going on with me. I hope this is the last of it. I need a lot of support. Please be there! GO
  5. Hi, I'm starting another round tomorrow. My acne is moderate right now. Lots of pustules and deep nodules. My face is very messed up but not as bad as before the first course. How old are you again?
  6. Hi all, Since stopping accutane last year, I have been getting sick with these severe sore throats. They are very painful. I was wondering if any of you have experiences recurring sore throats? Thanks, GO
  7. A lot of hair fell out 3 months after stopping it. It grows back. There is a term for this condition.
  8. Clearly I have undiagnosed syndrome X. I don't know what else to say. Acne can occur for so many reasons. They can't decipher the reasons because the tests aren't sensitive enough so they term it one skin disease and use the same stock of medications instead of individually treating the problem. It's not my fault that I was born at a time in history when the field of medicine is more interested in selling drugs than truly helping individuals. I have learned so much from having this awful conditi
  9. So, What happens when you've done numerous tests and even after a bout of accutane you still have pretty bad acne? What if everything but your high cholesterol comes back as "normal"? I don't know. The dr may not be able to put me on a second round now because of my high cholesterol which I never had before. What's going on? I was doing some reading today. I didn't know this but apparently cholesterol activates the 5 alpha reductase enzyme in the skin that converts circulating testosterone to
  10. Ok. I think i'm taking a second round of accutane
  11. Not true. The ancient eastern medical philsophies say that where you get acne is directly related to internal orgran distress. It is well known that for some, acne is triggered by nerves, anxiety and stress. The nerve pathways under the skin are symmetrical on both sides of your face; thus, it's quite possible that there is a reason for this symmetrical manifestation.
  12. I have symmetrical acne. It seems like too much of a coincidence to be solely a coincidence. I know in evolutionary theory, symmetry is found to be positive with regards to attractiveness. Maybe our bodies want us to be extra attractive so we get 2 matching lesions :S I don't know what its significance is, but there must be one. If you crack the Davinci code on this one, let me know.
  13. I've been trying to increase fibre in my diet. I've been cautious of eating fatty foods. I'm trying to be more careful. That's about it.
  14. Hi Guys, Thanks for the responses. The reason why I haven't done the accutane again is because my liver is under stress. My triglycerides and cholesterol are very high. I don't trust my doctors. I'm scared. If I thought that my liver was ok, I would take it in a second.
