  1. So I have been taking retin-a, and my face totally is totally doing well. However, my face isn't really getting all that red, and when I wake up after application of Retin-a there is no redness at all. If anything, the "redness" comes a day after. (I am using Coppertone spf 30 with Vitamin-A, E, non oily and non-clogging, if anyone is interested.) My question is: if my face isn't getting red, is it still working? Second question: My skin starts peeling the day or two after, and right before
  2. So I have Cetaphil here in front of me, and I am about to apply retin-a micro for the first time tonight... I AM EXCITED! But I am also a bit cautious, because I am supposed to avoid the "peel of limes" while on the Retin-a. Apparently Cetaphil moisturizer has "citric acid" in it, and I am wondering if it is to be avoided. It is the very last thing on the list, and I am wondering what I should do?! Help!
  3. Hey all, I was wondering which face wash should be used in when I'm using Retin-A micro .1%? What shampoo would you guys recommend (that would prevent irritation)? Also, what sunscreen have you guys had success with? Thank again, you guys are wonderful!

  5. so is the .04% micro as strong as the 0.1% regular retin-a? I mean obviously not in terms of the active ingredient, but does it yield similar results in terms of scarring because of increased absorption? if anyone is willing to venture a guess, go for it!
  6. have people done better with the retin-a micro (in regards to irritation and scar treatment)? Does insurance cover retin-a micro? About what percentage of the micro is equivalent to the regular retin-a? thanks again!
  7. well I went to my doc today and they prescribed me retin-a .1%. However, the doc was really busy and said, "I forgot if it's in a cream or if it's in a gel for .1%." Nonetheless they prescribed me the .1% and said that the pharmacy would figure it out. My five questions: 1. I am wondering if there is even a difference between the two and if there is a general consensus on which is better (the gel or the cream). 2. How should I apply this bad boy? 3. How long do you keep it on for? Do
  8. I am reading so much about retin-a being irritating and I am starting to get a bit nervous!
  9. I am really thinking about starting Retin-A. Any suggestions for sunscreen/moisturizer? Thanks
  10. I am currently very good friends with a doctor (general practice, not specialized in dermatology), and I was wondering whether they could prescribe it. I am building up the courage to ask them tomorrow, and I am almost positive they will say yes (that is, if they can prescribe it). If not, I am somewhat good friends with an actual derm, but I'd much rather ask the doctor. My biggest question is does Retin-A help these particular scars: rolling scars a shallow boxcar shallow icepicks pores DIS
  11. if I were to use retin-a with super cop would that kick some serious ass? EDIT: is the TCA cross safe? How does it even work?
