  1. Acne is SO messed up. It's like as soon as it starts to get clear and manageable I feel like a COMPLETELY different person than I do compared to how I feel when I'm in full nasty breakout mode. My skin is looking great now (relatively speaking). I've only been on accutane for a month and it's just amazing how much it's already improved. It's just so sad how much it impairs my daily functioning when it's bad. I wish it didn't have to be like this... like such a struggle/battle/lifelong w
  2. I'm getting better every day! I <3 accutane. I am trying to be positive in the moment and know that I will have to work out a maintenance regimen with my derm when this course is up. Who knows... maybe this will be the last time I need to take this shiznat.
  3. Hi all, I think everybody's opinion or fear of accutane is blown way out of proportion. technically pharmaceuticals probably aren't the healthiest option to healing but if something works... you can't knock it. Unfortunately for me I'm on my third course of accutane right now. It always clears temporarily. I think your biggest concern should be understanding long term maintenance and care once you're off accutane. I think that was my biggest mistake. The worst side effects I had were dry
  4. The point is, though, is you should be busy enough all the time so that it wont' be so noticeable when he's really busy. You need to keep yourself busy. Then maybe he'll start seeking you out!!
  5. Girl... get busy on your own. if he doesn't notice you're missing then you're lucky you're already busy having fun with your friends/doing things you want to do/ etc. Life is to short to hang around someone nagging them or bugging them. People are going to do what they want to do... at this point what he wants to do may not revolve around you anymore... Or he's taking advantage of the fact that he knows you'll be there... you'll show him, though, when you're out and about doing all the fun
  6. I've been on accutane for about a week now. I'm still using tazorac on problem areas. This combination seems to be working MIRACLES in a very short period of time. I'm still working towards understanding the root cause of this... but I'm so happy that I'm getting my life back in the meantime.... YAY. Looking back at this thread... it started with duac and tazorac... I think the duac really made my skin drier/worse/and was the main cause of those weepy watery cyst like things I was getting.
  7. Consider starting out with a lower dose. I never had an initial breakout the first two times I took it and I started out at 20 mg. I just started a third course at 60mg. I can't report on this starting dosage yet.
  8. Hi Sweetie, I feel your pain. My acne looks like yours. It's very persistent and nothing works... not even being on a strict diet. I got to the point where I was like... Screw this. I'm just going to eat what I want (not terribly unhealthy... just not so strict and boring.... depriving myself of an ice cream and things like this). When you deal with acne day in and day out for over a decade it's rough and it wears on your soul and patience daily. I am at the point where I'm going back on
  9. So, I've been on tazorac for almost 3 months now. I can't believe I made it this far with the horrible side effects. I still have bumps all over my face underneath my skin. It's awful. I start accutane (if the blood work pans out) this Friday. I CANNOT wait!!
  10. Yes... I have this. I've been this way for over 10 years. I am currently working with mental health experts. http://www.acne.org/acne-dysmorphia.html
  11. I can relate totally. I'm completely obsessed and I have no problem admitting this to my family and friends. Of course they all think I'm nuts. I always say... when this clears up I won't be obsessed and I'll be happy. However, I've been having a really hard time lately and am waiting as patiently as possible to get back on accutane. I am now taking an antidepressant and it is helping me more than I could ever hope. I was never for medication but I was getting so bad I couldn't function
  12. I'm 26/f and will be going on accutane for the 3rd time. The first time it stayed away for maybe 8 months max... the second time it came back really quickly like within the first or second month. I told my new derm we need to seriously bomb this shit and amp up the dose like it's nobody's business...
  13. I have felt just like this... and had a major breakdown the other day and called my doctor crying. I managed to get myself in there and she prescribed me an antidepressant. It is working like I cannot even describe. I feel calmness for the first time in MONTHS. I feel like I can handle this now and it will take time but I think I can handle it. I have not felt that way in FOREVER!!!!!! Think about the option of medication... please. I was always against it... they tried to put me on some
  14. So... I'm currently watching the learning channel and they have this whole clan of people with rare skin conditions on... I am always on here venting about how acne makes me upset but after seeing this man on TLC I can't feel so bad for myself... VERY GRAPHIC>>> BE FOREWARNED: ANOTHER LINK This is just a youtube video of the same guy... not the TLC special...
  15. My skin seriously looks horrible. My forehead, on a positive note, is clearing up... that probably won't last too long... this also coincides with me stopping the solodyn. UGG... I don't know. I can't figure out if anything is related to the medications I'm taking or what is going on. All I know is the left side of my face is appalling!!! There are probably about 50 or more bumps on my left cheek. I just don't understand. At my worst in the past I would have lots of large cysts but this i
