  1. some dermatologists like to prescribe retin-a even after you finish your accutane course for the sake of "maintenance" so deep down they know that accutane doesn't always cure acne.
  2. Please keep us updated on your experience with Tazorac! I may also start a topical treatment (tretinoin) after I finish with accutane so im really concerned with IB as well! because it is hard to persuade someone who stayed cleared for months to pick up something that can potentially cause problems! Good luck!!
  3. What foundation were you using when you tried the scar technique??
  4. my oil freaking returned within a week of stopping accutane! and acne came back in 6 month. I think it is a good sign that oil is not coming back!
  5. lol if this makes you feel better, i usually eat a large size mcdonald fries everytime i take my pills. its a huge commitment to clear skin.
  6. this has nothing to do with experience, it all depends on how the person interacts with the drug. as long as he is able to prescirbe you the correct amount, then it is up to your body to decide whether you will relapse or not. but if he makes you feel uncomfortable, definitely change dermatologist. you don't need to pay to be treated like that
  7. hi! i made a accutane shopping list before, i will link it to you. hope you find it helpful http://www.acne.org/messageboard/index.php/topic/307314-my-accutane-shoplist/page__fromsearch__1
  8. yeah, you definitely wanna make your liver's workload easier. i think you should talk to your dermatologist and see what med he recommends, i usually fight it off naturally, like sleep, water, but if that doesn't work for you, med is the way to go.
  9. you should hope for the best, accutane's effect vary from peron to person some people get remission that last up to years and some people only stay clear for a few months. good luck, i hope the best for you
  10. yeah, i agree with Julie. It is unlikely for an active ingredient like isotretinoin to cause symptoms assoicated with virus infections. but you never know! this drug can get weird sometimes, good luck.
  11. The food doesn't matter a whole lot, it is just recommended that you take accutane with a big and fatty meal because isotretinoin is a variant of vitamin A and it is best absorbed with fat. however, you should avoid vitamin A enriched food and food high in cholesterol. I usually eat it with steak that is cooked in a lot of butter, or like fish. don't over do it though, obesity is not any better than acne.
  12. Hey guys, I am about to start my 2nd course of accutane in a few days and since this is my 2nd time with this drug, I know a thing or two about what you need in order to survive the course. I am going to compile my personal list and hopefully some of you may find it helpful. Disclaimer: This list is based off my past experience and should only be used as a guide to sort out YOUR list. However, the first four items highlighted in blue are must have for everybody, the ones that are not highlig
