  1. My doc gave me retin-A to use, but that didn't work for me. I don't think I've tried apple cider vinegar yet, but I know I've tried tea tree oil before. When you say lemon juice might be aggravating, do you mean topically or orally? (Cuz I drink it a lot to).
  2. I'm only using a 2% salycylic acid acne wash morning and night along with organic lemon juice on my face, nothing else.
  3. Also, I wanted to ask this, I made a promise to myself to eat absolutely NO junky food for a whole week starting wednesday, the only things I'm taking right now is an omega 3 capsule and some lemon juice. Well now it's friday morning and I wokeup with a HUGE breakout of a ton of little whiteheads all over my chin. Is this some sort of initial breakout and a sign of good things to come? Or should I be worried and try and go back on an antibiotic?

  5. I'm a 21 year old male, when i first started getting acne in my early teens I was put on minocyclin which worked for about a couple years before I built an immunity for it. Then they tried putting me on accutane but the side effects were really bad stomach wise. The same thing happened with bactrim, it works, but I get reallly bad stomach symptoms, even when I take a probiotic. My newest derm tried putting me on Doxycyclin but that hasn't done anything in 4 weeks. My face just hurts soooooooo
  6. Thanks for these tips guys! However, I should have clarified that I have almost no cooking experience. I live in an apartment with a shared kitchen and frankly I don't even know how to boil water. I want to learn how to cook sooner or later obviously, but I'm such a newbie at the moment. xI
  7. Hi there, I'm a poor college student (Like the title says) with severe acne. I'm trying to eat better but it's hard at a university without much funds. I have access to a walmart, a target, and a few grocery stores. My diet currently USUALLY consists of: Morning: Soymilk and cheerios, or brown sugar oatmeal, it's always one of the two. Lunch: Whole grain toast and natural peanut butter, or chicken noodle soup, or sometimes nothing when I'm busy. For snacks I'll usually almost always have
  8. Speaking from experience I have to agree that antibiotics can mess up your gut over time. I've been on a few of the cyclines and accutane for a few years and had no stomach problems until about 5 months ago when I started to get bad IBS symptoms. And now whenever I take any antibiotic for acne my IBS symptoms come, but when I don't take the antibiotics, I don't have symptoms. So for me It's like I have to choose between gut pain or acne =p
  9. Hi, I'm a 21 yr. old male and for a little more than 2 years I've been on bactrim, which reduced my acne breakouts greatly and things were going peachy until a couple months ago when for the whole month of february my stomach starting experiencing pain that got worse and worse along with nausea and other gastro problems. For the life of me I couldn't figure out what it was even with doctor trips until i finally stopped taking Bactrim, and wouldn't you know it, 2 days later no more stomach probl
  10. I've just been really depressed lately. My acne is mostly gone now, but I'm left with a ton of deep cystic and ice pick, etc scarring all over my face that makes it look like a woodpecker went to town on me. I'm a tall, lanky, really skinny skeletor type with a pizza face and a goofy face. I also have bacne, and some zits on my arms, neck, ears, etc. I'm a broke college guy so i cant afford any expensive scar treaments and I'm taking bactrim just to keep myself from breaking out. This is ba

  13. The mirror is yucky! D: Yea usually with me I'll be having a grand ol' day, or maybe not so grand...and then if I perchance look in the mirror I go.....oh that's right I have acne. :[ And then the day just goes to poop. But the mirror is necessary to see wat I'm doing when I'm regimening cuz otherwise I'd get the BP in my eyes or hair or somthing.x D So the mirror is a necessary thing, so it's not a bad thing to look inside it unless your compulsively looking ina hand mirror every 2 seconds
