  1. I did a at-home 8% TCA peel two days ago to get rid of red-marks, uneven pigmentation, and these tiny acne-like bumps that have been plaguing my cheeks for months. I have no signs of peeling yet. Is this normal? When does the peeling normally begin? Because the solution was very weak (8%), is there a chance I won't peel at all? The acid burned like hell while on my skin and I was very red afterwards, but the next day my skin was not too much different, just a little red and the tiny bumps had
  2. Hi, I finished a 8 month cycle of accutane at 70mg/day six months ago. It didn't work too well; actually made my skin a bit worse with the hyperpigmentation left over from the IB. Besides red marks, I also developed keratosis pilaris (tiny underneath the skin bumps) and plus I still have some acne left. The dermatologist told me that a light TCA peel can help this. I know that you are not supposed to use these peels until at least 12 months after an accutane course, but that's only because you
  3. I might buy the 8% solution from this website: http://www.makeupartistschoice.com/product...Kits-98-22.html Has anyone had any experience with self-applied TCA's? Where'd you get yours from? Any suggestions or recommendations?
  4. I just finished an 8 month tane course, but still have 1-3 small spots on the cheeks. I was considering treating this with duac (5% benzoyle peroxide and 1% clydamicin). Should I wait a certain period of time before using a topical? Also, can using this medicine increase the likelihood of a red-mark forming after a pimple? What if some spread out from the spot I was treating and covered skin already with red marks? Would this affect those pre-formed redmarks? Also, how long would you wait afte
  5. I was considering getting an obagi blue peel to treat redmarks and hypopigmentation but can't afford it. Has anyone tried a Trichloracetic Acid (TCA) peel? Is it safe to do those at home? Here's a link to a seller: http://www.bestskinpeel.com/home.php Also, I hear that Obagi sells face gels that are designed to treat these conditions. Could someone provide the names of these products so I can research them. [email protected]!
  6. Before accutane, I had keratosis pilaris on my triceps. They are small not inflamed red bumps. I had never had it on my face. I'm on my last month of my 2nd course of Roaccutane now and suddenly I've developed these on my cheeks. Initially it was just 5-6 tiny red bumps near the jawbone, but now it's spreading across my entire cheek!! I'm really worried because this condition absolutely destroyed the skin on my triceps. It now has a permanent reddish/purplish hue. I'm afraid this could be the fa

  8. I've been using emu oil for 2 weeks now and have noticed my redmarks have faded slightly. Maybe in a few months time they will be completely gone. I also use a moisturizing gradual self-tanner lotion (nivea moisturizing glow), which contains jojoba oil; but I started both emu oil and htis product at the same time so I don't know which is exactly responsible for starting to heal my marks (although it's probably emu oil). You can get it on ebay. As for bio oil, Ive heard mixed reviews. Try emu fi
  9. My body has been doing some unusual things lately, which I think may be from vitamin deficiency (even though I eat very healthy). I know on accutane you are not supposed to take vitamin A, but is this all right if the vitamin a is in beta-carotene form?
  10. Is it okey to use this while on accutane or should you wait until you finish? Also, where can I buy it? You can use it on tane. It also doubles as a moisturizer. Ebay.
  11. When using emu oil as a carrier of other topicals (in order to penetrate the skin deeper), should it be applied before, after, or with the other topicals?
  12. I just got my emu oil today, and had a few questions. I figured I would ask here instead of starting a new thread. The bottle says to apply as much as possible throughout the day when you are first starting it and then decrease to 1-2 applications after a week. The problem is that I only wash my face twice a day. Would it be all right to apply the oil without washing my face? Or should I just disregard the instructions and only apply morning and night?
  13. This is my second course of Accutane. At the start of both course, I only had mild acne (about 3-6 pustules at once). The first treatment I was on 30mg for 4 months. It worked wonderfully, with no IB and I was clear within a few weeks. About a year later, my acne started to come back gradually, and I figured I'd just undergo another treatment just to get rid of permanently, expecting the same results. The second one (this time on Roaccutane in Britian w/ different derm), I took 70mg daily. This
  14. About a month after starting Accutane, I started to develop hypopigmentation, white spots lighter than the surrounding skin tone, on my left forearm. Initially it was only 2 spots, but now it has developed into about 8--all on my left forearm. What's worse is that the two initial spots are right next to one of the largest freckles on my body, making for a very uneven skin tone. These are not spots that have resulted from an injury of some kind, like certain hypopigmentation. One day, I just woke
  15. What stores or websites in the UK sell high quality emu oil (pure--no vitamin E)?
  16. Pure emu oil (w/o vitamin e) may help.
  17. Hmm...I may try this. Is polysporin triple heal the same as neosporin triple antibiotic? Can it make you breakout?
  18. I'm on month 5 of accutane and still have active acne. However, the worst feature of my skin is the red marks left over from the horrible IB. I am considering using emu oil to combat them. Since I still have active acne, will this make me break out? Also, has anyone used Bio Oil? I saw an infomercial last night and may get it instead of emu oil.
  19. Emu oil may help. Skin peel, dermabrasion, and laser treatment are other, advanced options. If you've had those marks for three years, you may have to resort to the latter. It can get pricey, though.
  20. You're not supposed to and I didn't my first course of tane. But I'm on month 5 of my second course and I've been using it every other day to spot treat some of the more inflamed areas. I wouldn't recommend it unless certain areas get unbearably painful.
  21. I've just had one long continuous IB, which is showing no signs of abating after 5+ months of tane. It isn't as bad as it was in month 2-4 anymore, but I still have 10 worthy pimples on my face plus more on my triceps, back, chest, and even two small ones on my legs. The acne isn't the worst thing anymore, though; it is the red-marks. OMG, my face is so blotchy, even fake tanner didn't help blend in the marks. Quite a difference from the 3-5 zits I had when I started tane. Accutane was a very ba
  22. Get a different derm. Mine said he'll keep me on tane until the acne clears, even if that is more than a year.
  23. I wash my face in the morning, after I workout, and before I go to bed. Is this too much? My post workout shower is only about 2 and 1/2 after my morning wash. Should I just skip the morning wash and only wash post-workout and evening?
