  1. Thank you very much for your advice!! I actually read "Beyond the pill" and it is really, but REALLY good. It helped me a lot to understand my hormonal acne and it's relation with the BC pill. However, I never heard about "WomanCode". Thanks for sharing I will read it as well.
  2. Congratulations for clearing your acne!!!! I also read about cod liver oil, but I was a bit scared of taking it because of the high amount of vitamin a. I already take a multivitamin that contains vitamin a and I didn't want to overdose. You are completely right about the birth control pills. It only hide your symptoms but when you stop taking it, your symptoms will come back even worst. Still, all the doctors prescribe it for acne issues, it's so sad... Another thing I read about cod live
  3. Completely agree. It's not about having sex or not. In the middle of your cycle (during the second week approx) there is a testosterone peak that causes breakouts to a lot of women, no matter if they have sex or not.
  4. Hello people Recently I decided to look for more ways to treat my acne and I did some research. One week ago I started a multivitamin which contains high amounts of zinc and B6, I also quit coffee (I was drinking around 2 cups per day before) and I reduced gluten (I was eating gluten at every meal before and now I only eat it occasionally). It has been one week since I started these three practices and my skin is CLEAR!!! After two days of no coffee, no gluten and taking the multivitamin,
  5. Hello, I am sorry about what happened to you I also have acne caused by an hormonal imbalance due to bc pills so I know how does it feel (I am 24 years old). By looking at your post, it looks like some of the food or supplements you are eating is worsening your acne. If you eat a very healthy diet like you described above you should be clear. However, it could be that you are sensitive to certain food in your diet and this is preventing you from staying clear. If you are eating food with
  6. Why most of the doctors prescribe medications that hide your acne symptoms (such as accutane, BC pills, benzoyl peroxide and other topicals) instead of investigating what is the root cause of your acne and treat it accordingly??? I just don't understand it.
  7. Wow!! This is very interesting, I have heard about inositol before but I didn't buy it because they don't have it in the store where I usually buy stuff, and I was too lazy to order it online. But now I will probably reconsider it. Thank you very much for sharing this information!!! I don't have pcos but I have another hormonal disorder which is similar since I have cystic acne and hirsutism and I am high in androgens. Thus, I don't know if inositol will work for me. You did a lot of research on
  8. Hey guys I like to treat my skin with natural products because I think they are a little bit more gentle than chemical products. So I was wondering if is it better to use aloe Vera or rosehip oil to heal my hyperpigmentation and red spots. Did you use any of them? What are your experiences? Thanks. (Sorry if there is any grammar mistake, I am not a native speaker).

So I was wondering if is it better to use aloe Vera or rosehip oil as a scar treatment. Did you use any of them? What are your experiences? Thanks. 10. Sorry that this happened to you. It also bleached all my towels so I guess this is normal I am noticing that if I reduce the amount my skin is a bit better, so I am planning to buy the 2,5% concentration in the next few days.
  11. I didn't try ortho tryciclen but I have experience with other birth control pills. I suggest you to contact your doctor as soon as possible. Having breakouts on birth control is not a good sign. Birth control pills give clear skin to most of the people. However, other people (like me and probably also you) may experience the opposite effect. This is because birth control pills can enhance the levels of testosterone in some people, and this leads to acne. If this birth control is enhancing your t
  12. Thanks for your answer :) Actually I have been drinking ginger tea for a week now and I am noticing the same effects you mentioned. It helps with inflammation but I still have a lot of clogged pores. I will continue drinking it as I think it is helping a little bit.
  13. Hello, I think the brand doesn't matter, as soon as it says "oil free" you can use it. Personally, I use one from Neutrogena which is oil free and with SPF 35.
  14. Update: it's my 4th week on benzoyl peroxide 5% and I don't have cystic acne at all. However, my skin has become really oily and is full of clogged comedones and some of them develop into white heads. Is that normal? Everybody on the internet claims that benzoyl peroxide works wonders for them. Why does this happen to me? It's so annoying...
