  1. I am getting acne on my stomach, seems to have worsened after taking acidophilus. I am curious if anyone else has experienced a breakout after taking acidophilus
  2. What about if you are taking a topical antibiotic e.g. Clindoxyl (Clindamycin is the antibiotic in clindoxyl); is there the same hazard of having the antibiotic cause damage which may be mitigated by a probiotitic?
  3. why do you use sugar? Is it necessary?
  4. Hi, I'm 26 y/o male who has taken one course of accutane when I was 23, which cleared my skin up quite well for about 3-4 months post treatment. Currently my regimen is to wash my face morning and night with a glycolic acid facial cleanser and apply clindoxyl cream at night which has 5% benzoyl peroxide. I get about 2 or 3 cysts a month and usually zits appear daily, which I poke to pop or to eliminate the bump. My skin is quite oily despite this regimin. Would it be reasonable for me to try
  5. Hi, I'm 25 and went on accutane when I was 23. It eliminated my worst cystic acne, but I developed oily skin, white heads and black heads. I was then prescribed clindoxly cream (a combination of anti-biotics and benzoyl peroxide). This cream does a very good job of keeping my skin under control; however, I found that I was starting to have oily skin during the day despite using this cream every night. So, I then started to use the body shop tea tree oil liquid soap in the morning and clindox
  6. Thanks for the replies. I think I may have aggravated my skin with stress, this granola I have been eating too much of (but tastes really good), turkey sausages (I don't know if this is a factor or not, but I recently started to eat a lot of them), and coffee. However, I drink lots of water and try to eat healthy for the most part, so I'm not sure what is happening. I'll just try and wait it out. Jeez... I put so much energy into my skin care with a regimen for morning and night, vitamins
  7. I am soooooooooooooooooo frustrated with my acne right now. I have been getting bumps on my lower neck and they keep coming. My face is relatively clear and responds to the clindoxyl gel I have been prescribed, but my neck is not responding to the gel at all it seems. I put a dab (maybe more than I should have?) on the area where I had 2 bumps last night, and then this morning I look and see a third bump...wtf! Is it possible that I dried out the area to the extent that it somehow caused more
  8. I don't think it is kp, but thanks for the response. I've started to use the clindoxyl cream every night (making sure to cover my entire outer arm) and it seems to be making a difference. Previously, I had wanted to try to minimize using the cream, but I realize now that if I don't use it consistently everyday I will have problems...sucks. I don't think clindoxyl is the greatest for the skin, but the alternative is acne. I dream of the day where I don't have to adhere to a regimen to keep
  9. I have what looks to be black heads on my arms and lots of bumps, some which become red and develop into acne. Unfortunately I have the bad habit of picking at them (I know I know...don't do it). This leaves me with some unsightly marks. Currently I have Clindoxyl cream that I apply every night (a combination of antibiotics and benzoyl peroxide), but it seems to have lost its charm. Yet, my face and neck seem receptive to this cream. Also I wash my arms with Dr. Bronners Tea tree oil soap in
  10. http://www.acne.ca/ This website is beneficial for all who have questions about acne, scarring, roscea etc. I live in Canada and my dermatologist is the one who is responsible for this site. I think the site helps to clarify and give some useful information on how dermatologists treat acne.
  11. I found that I was not able to order the twin labs brand of cod liver oil (I'm in Canada). I'm not sure why, but maybe because it does not meet a particular standard? I ordered Garden of Life cod liver oil instead: http://www.vitaminshoppe.com/store/en/brow....jsp?id=GU-1027 Good to know about the vitamin E, I bought the 400 IU by mistake, so I will have to go and get the 200.
  12. Hi, I have a scar on my lower lip directly in the center area from acne. The pigmentation has gone in part of my lip and is white, which contrasts with the reddish pigment of my lip, so it is noticeable. Is there anything I can do? I don't care that much, but if there is something I can do I'd like to try. Also, my dermatologist told me to put clindoxyl on my scars, I should have asked why, but I didn't. Does anyone know why putting clindoxly cream on my scars would help at all?

  14. Hi, I've had a similar experience, but probably worse in terms of my acne. I'm 24 as well, but I have already been on accutane. I had minor side effects, such as chapped lips, a little bit of joint pain, but not much and a lack of concentration. Accutane worked great for about 3 months after my treatment and then my acne came back, but to a lesser degree. I am now considering taking it again because I still get a flareup of acne, which can be cystic, every couple weeks or so. Basically, w
  15. Wow...that is bizarre. Did you have solid evidence from your doctor that what he was saying was true, that your liver would shut down (i.e. did you have a blood test)? Also, did you confront your dermatologist about what he was saying, and if so, what was his reply? I cannot imagine why he would tell you to stay on accutane if it was having such a severe effect on you? In addition, I am shocked that he would not be aware of your blood work and health to the same standard that your g.p. wo
