  1. I've tried pretty much all types of AHAs and they all seem to break me out, even is low strengths. Its not purging as I've been using them since last summer. And tried changing the frequency of use for each. Tried Mandelic last and even that caused small bumps on my forehead. Anyone had the same experience? Are acids just not suitable for some people?
  2. One for the ingredient experts. What do you think of these ingredients for the Clinique Mens Bronzer? Water / Aqua / Eau, Butylene Glycol, Tromethamine, Carbomer, Caprylyl Glycol, Polysorbate 80, Disodium EDTA, Phenoxyethanol, Potassium Sorbate, Yellow 5 (CI 19140), Red 33 (CI 17200), Blue 1 (CI 42090). Thanks!
  3. This looks similar to what ive been having. at the moment im using avene soap free cleansers three nights a week. avene extra gentle lotion mornings and the other evenings. then been using glycolic acid 4% every night for a month. aside from a purge of a week or so its seemed to keep things at bay although the bumps havent completely gone so will be trying to add a low concentration of saliyclic acid in a couple of weeks. not sure if this helps at all. do you get the breakouts anywhere els
  4. Hi, I started Glycolic Acid about three weeks. I had two weeks of no breakouts, a week of breakouts then about a week since with none. Last couple of days Ive had small breakouts in exactly the same places ive had them last week. I mean exactly the same pores. Do you think this is still purging? Can purging come in waves? Thanks
  5. Thanks for the reply. I'll give it a go in a couple of weeks and see what happens. I've found Butylene Glycol is actually in two of the products I'm using that I know don't break me out so hopefully thats a good sign
  6. Hi, was wondering about Butylene Glycol. I've found a tanning gel from Clinique that has it in but when I've looked it up some people are saying it can cause clogged pore. But Paula's Choice makeup has it in and a couple of the moisturisers I use (that don't break me out) Any help would be great.
  7. Thanks for the reply. I'm thinking food can process that fast too. Two days ago I ate a few blueberries and a few grapes after weeks of no fruit, and by last night my forehead had a fair few clogged pores. I squeezed a few out and this morning theres no mark left. the couple I squeezed out today were hard little grains that came out without a problem. I wonder if its some sort of intolerance to sugar in fruit and in the sweet potatoes a few weeks ago
  8. Hi, I didn't want to join just to ask a question, but I can't really find an answer looking through the posts. After 15 years of different levels of acne, I've finally got it somewhat under control (at 30). I eat no diary, no gluten, little sugar etc. but the last few months I can't stop breaking out in tiny bumps or getting clogged pored on my forehead. They usually only last a day then disappear. I no longer get the inflamed type of acne. After experimenting with the cosmetics I us
