  1. I was going to respond to your PM when I read this post and wanted to mention something for you to think about. You said you don't like addictive behaviors but feel this whole picking thing might be an addiction and will try and treat it as such. I have no experience in this matter, however, I was wondering if you are a perfectionist by nature or have any obsessive qualities to your personality whereby you might simply be looking at making your skin as "perfect" as it can be at that moment you
  2. "Damn, I should have went on this 2 years ago." haha As I read your last update I, too, was thinking it would have been great if you had gone on this earlier. However, you gotta admit, the view from the rearview mirror is always clearest! Plus, I also think you had to exhaust all your other options before taking this powerful drug. So glad to hear your success!
  3. Hey! Just wanted to pop on here to wish you lots of success with your treatment plan. I sincerely hope this will finally be the answer to clearing up your skin once and for all! As we discussed, be sure to check with your doctor regarding any supplements you plan on taking during your Accutane treatment and immediately after to be sure you can safely take those supplements. The last thing you wanna do is overburden your system as Accutane is powerful. Good luck! Have a great St. Patty'
  4. Hello there lol! :-)

    1. Ooooooooooo ok I wasn't sure if you stopped the Septra or not. If your skin is simply breaking out bc of your period, it will clear back up again shortly. I'm just happy that you know there is always your derm who has worked with you in the past and who knows your skin well. So if you were to have another major problem, he could quickly correct it. It's a really nice feeling when you don't need to rely on antibiotics too. It's nice to know they work, but it's nicer when you don't need them.
    2. Thank you sweetie! My skin really does look like utter crap :( Plus, Im so tired of all these blackheads on my nose; there are over a hundred of them After all the money and time you have spent trying new things bc you didn't think you could continue using your fav SkinCeuticals, perhaps in the end, the money you spent on the SkinCeuticals would have been worth it?! Are you still taking your Septra? If you are, then you can always go back to your SkinCeuticals cleanser again bc you know
    3. I wish Accutane would have just killed the existing breakouts and not allowed new ones to form for you! I don't get all this initial breakout stuff when it's supposed to be shrinking the oil glands not making them more active! Gosh! I wish you a speedy IB and on to great looking skin!
    4. Ahhh let's see... I think the most important tip I've learned and believe in would be that the condition of your skin is very important when you apply your makeup (any type of makeup). If you have lots of flakes or breakouts or dryness, then your makeup will simply not go on as well as without those problems. The companies have all stressed using good products for your type of skin that will help it stay as clear as possible BUT also stress how important exfoliation is to keep it flake free.
    5. Glad to hear your skin is cooperating! It's fun watching makeup videos! When QVC has dif vendors on like Bare Escentuals, Philosophy, etc., I love to watch them apply makeup to the models to get tips too! You could check on QVC.com in their beauty section to see when dif people will be on. It's fun to listen even though you don't buy. For example, even though you might use Everyday Minerals, application is about the same for Bare Escentuals, so it's helpful to listen to the creator of the p
    6. HAPPPPY BIRTHDAYYY DAN!!!!! Hope it was an especially good one this year and wish you many, many more to come!
    7. Yes, I have heard about it before. No, I do not have it. The reason I know about it is about three or so years ago I had a yellowish tiny spot on my cheek that didn't go away. It looked like a pore had overgrown. Since the derm always checks skin in general, he said that one spot was a sebaceous gland hyperplasia and that he would simply freeze it and it would return to normal looking. It was tiny but dif than the rest of my pores so I noticed it. He froze it and it returned to normal afte
    8. I have no suggestions regarding cleansers, but I did want to mention jojoba for soothing skin. You mentioned aloe vera, which I know lots of people love, but I particularly like one or two drops of jojoba oil either before or after my nightly topicals. I have oily skin too, and it's not very sensitive, but the jojoba calms down my skin wonderfully so it doesn't feel overtreated. I make sure not to irritate my skin in general, but I also believe the jojoba helps with that. I use literally one
    9. lol I'm amazed... you must have had quite a lot of dead skin needing to be exfoliated! That will calm down once you get the dead skin under control, and you won't even notice you're peeling anymore. The AHA's and SA's really end up micro-exfoliating so you're not really seeing what you're experiencing at the moment. I would use the one you like the way it looks the best in the day and the other one at night along with the spot treatment. That's the way I do it, and it works out great! I l
    10. lol - huge roll of skin shedding off was quite the visual! Sure it wasn't some of the product rolling off? Haha makes me think of a snake! I LOVE when I feel a slight tingling or burning too! It makes me think it's really working on my skin! You make a good point in trying the SA if the AHA doesn't work for you. I totally agree with your line of thinking as you might be able to simply use an AHA for your particular problem. This also gives you more time to thoroughly research which SA
    11. Gotcha. If you're using Finacea right now and haven't gotten any new spots lately, that's great! Then when you do break out, you have the Neostrata spot treatment to clear it up quickly! I'll list what I've noticed from the SA products I've used. Hopefully others will post their results too, but remember you can always check the product reviews on the org to see what others say as well. Neutrogena Oil-Free Acne Stress Control 3-in-1 Hydrating Acne Treatment w/ MicroClear Tech. If I'm in
    12. Hey~ If the Neostrata is working well for you, why don't you use that all over your face? The MA and retinyl in the product are also good for your overall skin's texture and tone. I was thinking if you found something you're getting great results from, why would you want to switch now? Also, I use MA, GA, and SA. I simply rotate them for my PM routine. I have been getting good results from Paula's Choice SA 2% gel or liquid. I have oily skin and it's not sensitive. The lotion 2% work
    13. Yes - I'm pretty sure everyone on the org is looking forward to those days as well lol! It will be so nice when you can simply wash, moisturize, treat a little if needed, then that's it! I'm always amazed at how some people have absolutely flawless skin... on their face, neck, arms, everywhere... with no marks of any kind. Here's to those days! (toasts with champagne lol)
    14. I was thinking about this goal of yours to eventually stop taking antibiotics. Once you get your skin back to looking happy and clear, the way you have been on your regimen, if you want to try and eliminate the Septra, just go about it slowly. There might then come a point where you notice you don't have to take it at all bc the topicals are working fine, OR, you might need to take it, just not as often as twice daily. Also, keep in mind that your skin will change at different times of the ye
    15. I was on septra for about four months. The reason Im off of it now is because I ran out of it  and the pharmacy isnt close to my apartment. I will have go on my day off to get it. I dont know when that will be. haha I thought you stopped bc you wanted to again lol. Well then, this will be the PERFECT time to give it a try simply bc you can't get it!!! Good luck!
    16. As Dawn suggested, weaning off slowly is probably your best bet. Get your skin nice and clear again using the regimen that has worked the best for you. Then, slowly wean off the Septra in approx two-week intervals. You might actually find you don't need to take it as often, or hopefully, not at all! Also, even though you might break out more often than when you were on the Septra, your breakouts might not be as bad as they originally were so you would be able to maintain good skin through us
    17. ugh I can only imagine how that must feel, especially since your skin can get very itchy normally! Just be sure you keep using your fav moisturizer on your arms that you love bc that will help to keep your skin looking and feeling the best it can while it's going through its peely stage. haha I remember when I would see some people with reallllllly sunburned backs that were massively peeling - it looked like a snake shedding lol! It's just a good thing your oven burn wasn't affected by it! E
    18. It must feel SO good for you to have great skin now! I was checking in to see how your sunburn was doing and I'm sure it won't scar. It will just peel away the layers of skin until you have fresh new baby skin underneath lol just like you gave yourself a little chemical peel! Did it at least turn somewhat tan for you to enjoy lol?!?
    19. OMG - You weren't kidding when you said you got sunburned!!! That looks like it is extremely uncomfortable! Did you get sunburn on the oven burn on your arm? Your skin looks SO red! Is it feeling better with the Aloe?
    20. Whoops! lol - Didn't know there was another ab so I corrected it! Thnx!
