  1. I wanted to follow-up and say how things are going now a few months after my last treatments. I'm so pleased with the results of my PDT therapy. Since my last treatment my skin has continued to stay clear. Now the only blemishes I get are once a month and it's usually only 1 pimple - I can handle that. I don't really use any creams or gels to prevent acne at this point other than spot treatment once a month. I've stopped using the mama lotion as I found it too harsh on my skin - it instantl
  2. Your skin is amazing!!! Congratulations!!! I'm happy to you!!!
  3. 5 weeks after final treatment... So, I couldn't be happier with my skin now. It looks great and I've only had a couple very tiny and hardly noticeable pimples. Here's a photo I took today. I do have powder on my face in this photo but not enough to make any real difference. http://img220.imageshack.us/img220/7056/withpowdertb5.jpg
  4. 3+ weeks after treatment 3... Just to keep up to date... my skin is becoming more beautiful by the day. I couldn't be happier with how nice it looks now. It's so smooth and soft and I haven't had any new pimples. I went to the doctor and he wrote me a prescription for Retisol-A (tretinoin) to help speed up the healing from the old acne scars. I really like how nice and smooth it makes my skin feel. It's drying but that's to be expected. I also wanted to mention as a side note that my fine
  5. The doctor told me at the clinic I went to that it takes between 30 - 40 days before you start to see any changes. I kept breaking out for about 3-4 weeks after the treatment and then I slowly noticed my skin getting better. Be patient. I know you're anxious to see some results but it does take a while. Are you going for more treatments? I'm now almost 3 weeks after my 3rd and final treatment and my skin is looking great. So try to stay positive!
  6. 2+ weeks after treatment 3... I just wanted to keep following up with this. My face is finally past the flaky dry stage and is finally soft and smooth. As you can see from the photos below there's been quite an improvement since the beginning of this process. My skin is sooooooo much better. I've only had 2 pimples since this last treatment and they came and went quickly. Now I just have to try and get rid of all the scars. Luckily they are hyperpigmentation scars and not pitted scars. I'
  7. 6 days after treatment 3... This treatment definitely hit me the hardest and my face is still recovering. My skin is SO dry and it scabbed over under my eyes and across the bridge of my nose. My skin is flaking off like crazy and it's still kind of scabby in the places I just mentioned. It's also creping under my eyes too. The clinic recommended using the glycolic acid (20%) pads to help speed up the sloughing off of the dead skin. I've done it a couple of times and I think its helped too.
  8. Final Treatment - all done now - and did this one smart I had my third and final treatment on Monday afternoon. The levulan was on my skin for 1.5 hrs and the blue light was on for 12 minutes. My face was so hot and uncomfortable by the last minute of the blue light. My face was definitely the reddest its ever been after one of these treatments. The skin under my eyes did scab over this time - not too pretty. I had to put ice packs on my face for an hour before bed to help bring down some
  9. I absolutely LOVE the Aspirin Mask. I know everyone does it a bit differently but I thought I'd share my recipe. Aspirin Mask (everything is approximate - I made it up as I went along) 20 uncoated aspirinhoneyapple cider vinegartea tree oiljojoba oilwitch hazelI put 20 aspirins in a bowl and slowly add the witch hazel and ACV (approx. 1 tsp of each) and then crush up all the aspirin. Then I add about 1 tbsp of honey, about 25 drops of tea tree oil. Finally I add a few drops of jojoba oil.
  10. Yes, aren't hormones a wonderful thing. I had the same thing happen after I had my daughter and as soon as I stopped breast feeding her my skin was hideous. I went back on the pill just over 3 months ago (Yazmine) and my skin is just starting to get better now. But the first couple of months on BCP wasn't pretty at all. Have you tried an aspirin mask? I've added it to my routine (every other day or so) and I love it. I mix 5-6 uncoated aspirin with equal parts ACV and Witch hazel as well a
  11. Finally after the better part of a year (really bad for months and months but on-and-off bad for years), my awful acne covered skin is on the road to recovery. Here's the list of what I've done to clear up my moderate (cystic type) acne: Went on BCP YasminHad Photo Dynamic Therapy - 3 times (actually twice so far with one more next week)Gentle cleanse with Cetaphil cleanserDiacneal (Glycolic Acid and Retinol) every nightDKR BP every nightAspirin Mask every other day - I love this one!!! 12. 36 days after treatment 1, 22 days after treatment 2... My skin is finally starting to look great now. It's been over a week since I've had any breakouts and now the only blemishes on my skin are the left over hyperpigmentation marks from the previous outbreaks. My skin is much smoother and less oily. The texture of my skin is more refined. I'm so pleased with the results now. I go in for treatment number 3 in 6 days. I'll continue my update then. Photo below was taken this morning with no
  13. 1 week after treatment 2... My skin is back to its old tricks again. I have some pretty big breakouts at the moment. I didn't have the mass shedding as I heard others but rather mild flaking again - around my mouth mostly. Still overall no improvement yet, but I will try to wait patiently. I will be going for my 3rd and final treatment at the start of January.
