  1. hey Brooklyn!, I was also considering having fillers and subcision done by Dr. Yang. I am currently 6months post accutane and would like to do it either this summer or next summer when I am off. I wish you the best of luck and keep us updated here on how the treatment goes. i'd love to know. thanks! Also, I wish the best of luck on your subcision xscarringx, keeping this thread updated if it is successful would be awesome!
  2. Your scars look exactly like mine too. I am 6~months post accutane and am currently searching scar treatments. Our main problem (or what I think mine is) is that the rolling scars really make my skin look distorted and wavey. As such, I am going to try subcision as a method of treatment first to fix the deepers bigger rolling scars and then add fillers. After that, I will add a non-ablative laser or dermarolling as suggested above just to fix the wavey texture created by the really shallow scars
  3. While my acne has calmed down...(had a sudden onslaught of cystic acne about a year ago) since I just finished accutane two~months ago...I now have pretty moderate/severe scarring and absolutely hate feeling isolated. I am from NYC (go to school in Long island) and would totally go to a get together like this if you could organize it. you would have my support and I would try my best to make it.
  4. So I broke out today for the first time since my accutane course ended 1.5months ago. Sufferer of moderate acne my whole life and recently severe cystic acne. Also 23 years old, been dealing with this for 10 years, and have every kind of scar on my face too. Some more obvious than others... O did I mention i also took accutane twice? Not even that is a definitive solution...Dont get me wrong accutane does clear acne, but it is uncertain who will get full remission or not in my opinion...I do
  5. I know this is a butload of swelling...but it looks good so far. I have never heard of Cora-Therapy and a quick search doesn't come up with a whole lot either but keep us updated, and if you can figure out more on how it is different from subcision let us know. This is very interesting! Wishing you the best of luck!
  6. My scars are exactly like this. I have one deep/red huge one on my right cheek and scattered array of scars on my left, shallow ones that are all red so they look deep too. Although I just finished accutane, I would suggest exactly what the above says. Use retin-a to promote healing. and moisturize! moisturize! to provide a better environment to healing as well. I would try to clear your acne as much as possible and go for subcision and/or fillers and lasers (this board seems to have alot of goo

  8. Hi! I am also located in NYC and just finished a second course of accutane due to a sudden cystic acne breakout which left me with (as of now) moderate-severe scarring. I know I am not talking from experience as I have not yet myself done any scar treatments but this is what I gathered form my research, i hope you foind it helpful: -Orentreich- the doctor who supposedly founded the subcision technique is based in NYC. this is the first doctor I will be visiting for a consultation. I feel like
  9. thanks for this! as a suffer of new scars, that are 2-6 months old that I got during accutane I look, in my opinion, terrible. shallow scarring all over with some 2-3 scars that are really big (>5mmdiameter) just like yours. I hope after I wait a year of healing, positive thinking, and retin A...and then 2 years of maybe needling, laser, and subcision i can reach the point just like you where I am happy with my skin. Thanks for the booster
  10. This is neither severe acne nor is it nodulocystic. At most I would say you have mild-moderate comedonal/pustular acne. You are the perfect candidate for prescription topicals/maybe an antibiotic. Go for that duac again! Also, try not to use too many topicals, keep it simple, dont keep switching cleansers etc.
  11. OMG I am a med student two on my second course of accutane (due to an unknown sudden severe cystic acne breakout that started Feb 2012). I am on my 6th and final month and while I haven't broken out in a month my face still looks (to me...) absolutely disgusting. I have red marks and rolling scars all over. Whats sad is that a year ago I had a pretty clear face with minimal scarring (results of first accutane course). Yes, it depresses me all the time, I know how it feels; I have skipped quite
  12. thank you for doing this. you are helping alot of people by documenting your journey. Keep us updated! Thanks!
  13. I don't know if it is just me but I don't really see the orange peel texture in your skin? I can see it in the example pic but not really in yours? I think your skin looks fine...if I saw you in the street I wouldn't really notice anything (neither the orange peel texture or the scars that much)
  14. same position as you man, except i am on my 6th and final month of accutane...with scars thrown in with the red marks. We just have to be patient and wait it out. I try to not think of the now and just think of the end goal 1-2 years down the line...no acne and getting scar/laser treatments. Just pull through. good luck what products did you use during your course? Hey, during my course I tried to keep it simple For my fash wash I used Cetaphil For my lotion on my face I bought an expensive br
