  1. Is your avatar Effy from skins?? She was the worst character... @zyzz - Let's keep this on topic just messing @asymptote - I'm sure you know any type of consistent acne is very annoying. I hate using topical medications I have to refill every two months or so, as I'm sure you do too. Lol. Anyway, let me know what you decide.
  2. If anyone is around who has taken a 2nd course, or 3rd, it would be greatly appreciated if I could get your input.
  3. Hey guys, just for a brief background on me. I've had acne since I was 13 or so. Tried everything from proactive, antibiotics, and all the retinoids. I took accutane when I was 20 and finished right when I turned 21. I started breaking out again when before I turned 22. I decided to go to the derm and she gave me minocycline, cleocin, and acayna. Needless to say it hasn't been helping. I would describe my current breakouts as moderate but very consistent. I just saw her a couple da
  4. Hey all. I've entered my 5th month of accutane (7 month course) and was just bumped to 60mg from 40mg. I've noticed, and this has happened about 2-3 times total, that when I sometimes wake up I have a little bit of blurred vision for about 20 or 30 minutes, or until I take a shower. For example, if I were to try and read, I would see about 1.75 of the words, not quite double Is this due to dry eyes and not enough water? It subsides and goes back to normal. Could it be increased brain pres
  5. well you're just as entitled to your opinion as i am to mine :)

    1. You are no movie buff, or "movie snob" as you so politely put it. I hate to break it to you but "UP" was not as good as you made it out to be ;o

      1. I think you mean male human sperm, as opposed to something like, I don't know, maybe a goat or horse...but that's only if you are going to go the extra mile! As far as I know, males are the only ones that produce sperm.
      2. That's what happened, just fell through the cracks. Called the derm and it took 20 seconds to straighten out.
      3. Yes I got everything done that I needed to. She wrote out the prescription slip and handed it to me. I took it to the pharmacy to pick up 5 hours later, and when I went to pick it up they said my derm may have not done her part, or something like that... Edit: Went on to the ipledge site and it said there was no patient action required.
      4. Well today I went to my derm at 11:00 and went to fill my prescription. I went back at 5 to pick it up and they said it couldn't be filled, that perhaps my derm had not called it in? Do I have to go online to the ipledge site or call my derm? I plan on calling my derm tomorrow to get it sorted out, but I'm just wondering what could be the possible explanation for this? On month 1 & 2 I didn't have to do anything but go drop off my prescription and picked it up with no problem later.
      5. Thanks for the update! Glad you are doing well. It makes me hopeful I'm about 55 days in right now, and its been clear-breakout-clear-breakout, etc. But I haven't given up hope yet. I am seeing my derm May 4th so I'll see if I need a bump from 40mg to 60 mg (I weigh 135-140.) As for my side effects..just a little bit of dry lips and a bit of fatigue. Anyway, thanks for keeping us informed, most don't after their successful course(s). Hope you are enjoying life!
      6. I use CeraVe lotion as moisturizer. Some people use Cetaphil, but I found cetaphil to be thick and annoying, where as cerave works very well. Get some aquaphor for your lips and start putting that on at night the first day you start. I use burt's bees chapstick during the day. I started using aquaphor on day 1 and my lips aren't very chapped almost 2 months in. That's really all I can think of..limit your drinking alcohol, but its better not to do it at all...and drink lots of water..st
      7. I used to live in South Carolina up until I was 18, where are you from?

Grats on finishing tane, I'm almost done with my second month :)

        1. Whatever your decision is just remember, "life is full of opportunities, even the ones you miss" --ccbb I decided to go on it after trying about 5 retinoids, antibiotics, benzaclin, and duac. They all involved combinations. None worked to my satisfaction. I'm now on day 45 and my lips are a bit dry, but not chapping incredibly bad. I have noticed a bit of fatigue, though i don't know if its because i'm more active now or from tane. You are only 17 though. I'll be 21 in a few months so I
