  1. Well kids, I am back. I was on Accutane for 5 months from Nov 2007 to the end of April 2008, 40mg a day. My skin was beautiful and clear up until about a month ago, when I started getting cysts again. After giving it a lot of thought and talking to my Dr, we decided I would go back on for a couple of months and see what happens. I am on Day 5 and so far I am just experiencing the dry lips. The couple of pimples that I had are drying up. I have some questions for people who are on their sec
  2. Thanks Loelle!!! Are you still clear and fabulous???? I am! Even the red marks are going away. Accutane is my hero!
  3. Congrats - you look great!!!!!!!!!!!
  4. Hi everyone - I am about 2.5 months off Accutane, and still no acne at all. I thought I felt a little something the other day, but when I woke up the next day it was gone! I have some scarring from the cortisone injections but now that my skin is not so sensitive I am going to start using microderm abrasion treatments to help with it. The red marks are also starting to fade away, and the longer i am off the Tane the more my skin complexion is returning to normal, less dryness and less rednes
  5. Day 4? post-Tane Hi everyone, so far so good. Skin still dry, lips still dry...I know this is going to last as long as the Accutane is still in my system. But, so far everything is going really well! Have a great weekend everyone!
  6. Tyler - I am so happy for you!!! Thanks for all of your encouragement in my log, I said it in there too, but I will be sure to keep in touch, i am scared of it coming back too. PS, your skin is looking really great!!
  7. You guys are the best...thank you so much! And Tyler, I am afraid too, so dont worry, I will keep in touch!
  8. Yayyy I am SO glad it worked for you. I know its greasy but if you put it on right after the shower it seems to dry faster. Its a miracle, I am so glad i found it!
  9. justcate - Thanks for the well wishes on my trip...I am very excited!! My dosage throughout the entire treatment has been 40mg. Good luck with your course!!!! Last day!! Today is my last pill....My derm officially said I am done. I am so excited!! I will probably keep posting in here for a couple of weeks, just to see how my face does post-Tane.
  10. Yah, it is REALLY greasy but it works!! I hope it ends up working for you. And yah, the smell is insane, I just want to eat it!
  11. oh thank you thank you!!! I will get some today! My husband seriously keeps looking at me every time I bring home a new chapstick (I have ten or more trying to find the "best" one) or new product thinking is that going to fit in our cabinet? Oh well one day soon this will just be part of our past right? thanks again!!! so glad your skin is better! I wonder if it is the change of the seasons???
  12. Endofacne, thank you. I am going to try the Cetaphil creme. However, I found some great stuff that healed it up right away. I am glad to hear that your course went well and that you are still acne free. Altagirl - thanks!! Were you able to pick up the Palmers? Do you like it? 4 days left! Everything has been the same...acne free, still pretty dry. Can't wait to go to the Derm and get the confirmation that i am DONE! Woohoo!
  13. Hey there! I just discovered, thanks to a friend of mine, the most amazing stuff, and the rashes I have been complaining about that was all up and down my arms are gone, in two days. You can find it at any drug store, I got mine at Longs. Its called 'Palmers.' Its cocoa butter with Vitamin E. The stuff in the tub. Seriously, it was a godsend. Its very greasy but it works like a charm!!! Good luck! here is a link to it on drugstore.com: http://www.drugstore.com/products/prod.asp...amp;
  14. 8 days left! My arms are insanely dry. I am going today to get some jojoba oil, since it seems that everything I use isnt working. I have no idea why 5 months into my treatment I am suddenly covered in dry skin patches that are out of control...I havent done anything different as far as what lotions or oils I use. Its from my shoulder down to my wrist on both arms. It almost looks like an allergic reaction but I know better (and havent eaten anything unusual at all.) Oh well, I guess I wi
