  1. I've had 4 treatments and very little improvement. My scars are the same, the smooth part of my cheeks is (maybe) a tad smoother.
  2. Here's my smoothbeam update..... I've had 4 treatments and it's been about a month since the last. I initally read about the treatment on this site while I was researching ways to get rid of scars and enlarged pores. On a scale of 1-5, 5 being a great improvement, one being very little or no improvement---I would say my final results are a 1. If you have piles of cash doing nothing but collecting dust, sure go ahead and give it a shot. But at 300 per treatment I paid, it does not deliv
  3. Do you use any acne products that contain sulfer? I just started with a new face wash that has sulfer in it, and it can smell pretty stinky. Maybe when you apply make-up it re-stinks the sulfer smell.
  4. Stay out of the sun becuse sunlight makes those spots darker. There are fade creams and such, but I've never used one that actually did any good. Maybe someone else on here knows a good brand. In the meantime, the best thing to even out the skin tone is good coverage make-up.
  5. I bought mederma for the shallow rolling scars I have at my temples. It is rather difficult to use. You have to apply it several times a day, then it burns and leaves dry peely skin. Maybe if you can stick through all of that annoyance, and use it consistantly for several months it might do something. I think most people give up and quit because it is so inconvenient. I used it for a couple months, but not as consistantly as the directions said. It did not help me at all.
  6. I think if you are darker, (have more melanin in your skin) then your red marks (made out of melanin) will naturally be darker too. Also, those red/purple marks tan faster and darker than the rest of your face. If you are getting a tan you are making them get worse and last longer, so use a sunscreen.
  7. My doc gave me some plexion cleanser, but I just had smoothbeam so I haven't used it yet. Is it the cleanser that you are supposed to use as a mask?
  8. Hey sunblock! I can vaguely recall someone or other doing smoothbeam and microdermabrasion, but you will need a huge pot of coffee and a day off work to sort through 106 pages to find it. Or maybe someone who knows will respond.. Or the search feature?!
  9. Hey Obi! So did they start you off at a 10 because asian skin might hyperpigment? Did you ask them to up the dosage at each visit or did they do that? Have all these treatments helped you alot? (If you've answered all this stuff before, just refer me to where I might find it.) All you guys, don't be too shy to write me a whole book on your experience. I really want to know everything.
  10. I'm glad to hear it does work for some people. Perhaps my deal was that my scars are old. So maybe there is hope for that band-aid. You do only put a bandaid on a newly damaged area. That would be good for the occasional little scars I get from shaving my legs.
  11. Rex you say "skin like mine" What do you mean by that? What is your ethnicity? Do you have an actual doctor doing your treatments, or did he send you to an aesthetician? Perhaps the aestheticians are not trained to use the higher settings... The start of great improvement you say? That's good news! How many have you had and how long has it been?
  12. Is this make-up that's been sitting in the cupboard for months or brand new stuff?
  13. I get the feeling that band aids will be about as effective as Mederma for acne scars---i.e. not effective at all! Good luck though!
  14. Randy you are making me sad!! I've already spent over 500 but I've just had my 1st treatment yesterday. Have you speculated what the problem may be in your case? I wonder why it works so well for some and not others... Randy, do you know what setting(in joules) the doc used on your wife? Was it the 4mm or 6mm laser? My little hypothesis is that the people who are raving about smoothbeam are those whose docs are zapping the heck out of their faces at 12-13-14 joules. Other docs onl
  15. What are you talking about, red marks left behind from a gigantor zit or from some kind of treatment? I know I've had zit red marks last 6 months or more. The more sun I got, the longer they'd last.
