  1. I took accutane for 6 months 40 mg, and the acne came back in like a month. Im currently on my 2nd course 3 months after the first. However, something has been bothering me since the first course. Cracked corners on the mouth is normal on accutane, so I use DrDans Cortibalm, but when it cracks, there is redness around it making it look like a cold sore on the corner of my mouth. However, sincemy mouth cracks about every week or two since i was on the medication, the redness seemss to have stayed
  2. Just wanted to know what the minimum time is between the first and second accutane course? Cause I took my first course and the oil+acne came back in like one to two months...although mainly whiteheads or they are really small. Also, I'm around 55kg, and took Accutane at 40mg/day for 6 months. Is that too little, causing me to relapse?
  3. So around week 3-4 I will start to experience decreased oil on my skin? Does oiliness return for mots people?
  4. Can anyone post a timeline of what to expect in the course of accutane? It has been about 15 days and my skin is still oily! Why is my skin not drying? It is flaking, but there's still a lot of oil! Do some people not experience drying on accutane? I'm on 40mg and I weigh 118lbs

  6. I'm about to start accutane and I'm not sure about some guidelines. If I use a gentle cleanser like Purpose, should I still wash my face twice a day? Or only once because it is too dry? Also, what are some recommended moisturizers with spf and lip balms that I can get at CVS? Thanks!
  7. I don't have severe acne, but I do have many lingering red marks because I get pimples before the old marks have healed. Right now I have like two-three active small pimples(size of whiteheads), and the rest are marks. I would say that it's mild-moderate acne. But the problem is that I have really really oily skin, which is likely the source of my acne. Whenever I go out for too long(9+hours), I will come back home and get pimples the next day because my skin is too oily. I have not yet seen any

  9. it's not just the acne. it's that my entire face is so oily as well...its almost like my face is always wet. there arent always major side effects for accutane. how do people afford accutane if they don't have health insurance? i just want to know if student health insurances cover for these medicine fees if i am directed to a dermatologist by my doctor?
  10. How can I see a dermatologist and afford accutane if I don't have health insurance? The only one I have is the student health insurance. Also, I thought you had to see a doctor first before being referred to a dermatologist?
  11. I am entering university and I want to get Accutane. I have student health insurance(provided by the university), and I want to know if the campus doctor will be able to prescribe Accutane to me. Also, will this type of insurance cover the costs for Accutane, since I heard it is very expensive without insurance. I go to university of california, santa cruz by the way. If not, what ways can I get Accutane legally and affordably?
  12. Do any of you break out using Dan's moisturiser?
  13. It's not super harsh, but the "harsh cleanser" I'm referring to at least takes off the shine after I'm done cleaning. If I use Dan's cleanser, I still have a bit of shine on my face after cleaning. The problem with this "bit of shine" is that if I apply bp+moisturizer on it, the area just gets oilier throughout the day and the moisturizer doesn't seem to absorb into it. It's as if the oils in the moisturizer don't penetrate and stay outside. I can practically put my finger on my face and see the
  14. Would it be alright to use a harsher cleanser? I have super oily skin and even after using Dan's cleanser I have a shine on my face. The only time it will look matte is if I use those harsh cleansers. They don't dry my skin out if I'm not on BP though.
