  1. Acne is the most common disease of Western civilization, and it has evolved to an epidemic affecting more than 85% of adolescents and 50% of adults. Acne is virtually absent in non-Westernized countries that do not consume cow's milk and dairy products...Imagine that - entire populations that have never experienced acne Acne is now more seriously being regarded as a disease caused by exaggerated production and activity of insulin within the body.
  2. If you haven't heard of of the 'Caveman regimen, you're not stuck in the dark ages. It's yet another half-baked idea at to eliminate acne What they mean by "caveman" is keep your face dirty... don't wash it... don't use chemicals... just let it be. You know what cavemen did before cleansers and before acne Now, I couldn't agree more with this theory. After all cleansers and a most other acne products destroy your skin's microbiome which can make acne worse. Once you mess with you

    Have you ever noticed

...Advances in medical science, technology, pharmaceuticals, chemical ingredients, natural ingredients, and medical acne interventions continue to become more sophisticated and evolve, but the acne epidemic does not? And there have been no acne advances that have even come anywhere close to a long-term prevention. Why and how the hell hasn't the multi-billion dollar acne industry found a cure yet? ...no seriously! Why? Is it because there are so many different types of acne co
  4. Shea butter is good for acne because it is rich in antibacterial and anti-inflammatory properties. But I think it's too heavy for acne. And yes as stated above you would only want it to be unrefined SB. When I used a Retinoid is was so drying, I assume you're experiencing the same. Rosehip, Grapeseed are great for moisture as well and aren't quite as rich as SB.
  5. Damn! Have you tried a probiotic? Lactobacillus acidophilus in particular for acne
  6. Hey, Back acne is almost exclusively due to dairy intake. Do you consume a lot of dairy?

Acne that never ever goes away

This looks like a severe case of dermatitis over typical acne. Nothing to be alarmed at, it's easier to clear this topically compared to acne. Maybe ask your doctor for a Corticosteroid cream. If it just began a year ago you need to try and figure out if there is something you're exposing yourself to or constantly coming in contact with to that makes it persist. It looks like an extreme Allergic Dermatitis or a Contact Dermatitis to me. Good luck
  8. If you're male and have acne you may have overlooked a few reason your acne persists. Your acne will most likely never go away if you aren't targeting your Acne Signaling System - the central point of acne initiation, where it all begins I'm going to guess it's pretty damn frustrating to be a grown man with zits!? Not so hot right! This can definitely be a source of insecurity and depression. You're feeling unattractive and maybe aren't comfortable being as socially active as you want
  9. There are 2 phases for Acne sufferers:
    1. Those who look for a cure by trying every solution and medication
    2. Those who realize they haven't found a cure by trying every solution and medication

Most acne sufferers spend their lives in phase 1

If you're in Phase 2 you're half way to finding a cure

What can be done about my scarring

so are you still suffering from acne breakouts? or just trying to heal the scarring at this point?
    2. Hi Bell33 I would say, do not get discouraged because you can make a huge transformation on your own without the help of your mom or treatments. Eliminating certain foods from your diet is the #1 best way to radically eliminate your acne. Milk and dairy products are your worst enemy at this stage of your life because your hormones are at their peak, and adding animal growth and sex hormones to your body will guarantee your acne will continue to get worse. Also try to eliminate refined carbohyd

What can be done about my scarring

Hi I can't see very closely but looking at your profile pic it looks like you have icepick scars?. If so, you may want to look into Subcision, which can have excellent results. Also laser resurfacing, or dermabrasion are ones to look into. I know procedures like these seem extreme but sometimes the depression can be more extreme Good luck!

      Scars type and advice

Hey there These look like a cross between Rolling scars and Atrophic scars. I have had clients who have had luck with soft tissue augmentation techniques like hyaluronic acid, collagen and gelatin matrix or fat implants (fat grafting) Also you might want to consider laser resurfacing or ablative fractional lasers. Dermabrasion is another really popular technique I've seen with good results. Good luck!

1 Month in, Very Red Face

Stop using it! In 4 weeks you should know if something is working or in your case making it worse! You're destroying your skin biome. It's now going to take another 4 weeks to restore it. Give your face a break for a while, especially if the acne is usually only mild...because it sounds like your skin looks worse now than it was before
