  1. Thanks so much for the laser information. I am having the hardest time finding someone that performs these type of laser treatments. I have spent hundreds of dollars going to just about every dermatologist in my area and none of them seem knowledgable about scar/pigmentation treatments. How can I find someone that will be able to treat the hyperpigmentation and hypopigmentation in particular? I can't believe some of the responses I get...just yetserday I went to see a new derm who said "have
  2. Hello all, In addition to my hypopigmented spots, I've learned that the darkness on my chin and upper lip area are the result of a minocycline induced hyperpigmentation. No doctor has really offered me any solution to this problem other than "it might go away over the next couple of years" I am desperate to lighten the black/brown pigmentation and was wondering if any of you might have suffered from minocycline induced hyperpigmentation and if you have any successful ways of treating it. Tha
  3. Please share your experience and/or success with methods to treat/reduce hypopigmentation. Needling/micropigmentation/tanning...please share anything that might have worked! Also, I cannot find anyone that does needling around where I live (connecticut)....do you think acupuncture would provide a similar solution?
  4. Lots of sleep, cold cucumber slices, cold teabags...and avon def works well too...they have a vitamin c serum or something that i use to use back in college that made me appear woken up even if i had been up all night!
  5. Thanks so much for the website. Unfortunately, I live on the east coast (CT) and have not been able to find anyone that does needling or tatoo pigmentation in this area. Does it require multiple treatments? I would be willing to travel anywhere through new england if someone could help make it more even. Do you know of anyone who might do this type of procedure in the CT/MA area? Thanks so much.
  6. Thank you all for your replies. Please do understand that the photos were taken with a 4.0 megapixel digital camera and are therefore probably not as clear as the hypopigmented spots would appear in person. It becomes much more troublesome during the summer months because my skins tans...despite putting on sunblock everyday. Please keep the advice constructive (ie-bug). For your information bug- I am on anxiety pills because this condition has taken over my life. I really came on this site
  7. Thanks for the reply. I was using Retin A .04%...but have stopped using it because I felt that it was contributing to the hypopigmentation. I still use it to spot treat minor breakouts once monthly. I'm sorry that you had to deal with hypopigmentation as well...but you are very fortunate that you have caucasion skin....which makes your hypopigmentation not noticeable at all to me through the picture you have posted. Please keep the suggestions coming!
  8. Thanks for the moral support but I know that my face is malformed...I just don't know what to do about it or what it is. A dermatologist has ruled out vitiligo....another suggested that it was post inflammatory hypopigmentation....which I don't think it is because I did not have any inflammation in the areas where small circles have appeared. Do you think it might be tinea versicolor? Also, is anyone familiar with the types of methods physicians might use on a patient like me? So far...the o
  9. Thanks guys. I have been seeing a counselor....but it really is that bad. I have attached pix in the scar treatment website. The white spots throughout brown skin really just make me look like a freak. If you know of any methods or particular physicians that might be able to help me please do suggest! Thanks
  10. Dear all, Attached are my horrid post acne pictures. I would truly appreciate it if you could advise me on who to see (ie- plastic surgeon, derm, etc) and what procedure to potentially try. My story is in another posting titled "what happened to my face...please help".....never had white marks on my face....until I took accutane, combined with retin a and azelex as topicals. I wasn't sure if this is possible or not but could they maybe cut out the circular scars and at least make them into a
  11. Thanks for the responses everyone- I'm sorry that you guys have gone through similar experiences. I think the main reason I can't show my real skin to anyone is because I like to think of myself as the other person...its almost like I don't want to believe who I really am so I can't come to terms with visualizing myself to others. What exactly is TCA? If you look at my other posting in the Scar Treatment forum, it describes my situation and asks for advice on what to do/and mainly who to see.
  12. Hey everyone, I just had to vent about this. I had acne since I was about 11. Its gone now but I have huge white scars all over my face and I have brown skin so I am basically deformed. I have been living a double life for the past 8 years. No one knows how hideous I am because I wear makeup and have not let a single person see me without it....ever. I got a single dorm in college instead of a roomate like most people would because I knew I would not be able to sleep at night without my ma
