  1. Hi lately I have no real idea what I should do in regards to acne? I have had severe acne for 8 years now and everyday it feels like there is a growing pain in me that gets worse. I use to hold onto that hope that someday I would have clear skin but now I don't think I ever will and for the first time in my life I feel like something has died in me. Maybe I should see a psychiatrist? Has anyone else experienced this pain? What did you do?
  2. Hi I just recently started the acne.org regimen and I heard from a friend that has done the exact same regimen that Benzel Peroxide can be really bad for your skin? He says that it makes your skin dependent on it and loses its effectiveness over time? Is this true? Please help me!
  3. I just remembered that my family has a history of depression, heart disease, and asthma... Does this mean the dermatologist probably won't let me take accutane?
  4. maybe. have you tried a topical retinoid like retin-a? if not, a derm doc may want you to try this before undertaking the risky accutane. regarding the long term effects of accutane... accutane has only been around for 25 years and it isn't prescribed as commonly as many other drugs. so, it would be hard to have any sort of conclusive study on long term effects considering the small control group. this is why i bristle when i hear people say that accutane is a "cure". also, many people (lik
  5. Thanks again for responding so quickly. My health is in great shape, I only have 9% body fat. I eat extremely healthy and work out about 2-3 hours a day. I tried two different types of antibiotics but there were ineffective, does that make me a candidate for Accutane? Acne effects my life a lot but I don't know if I am willing to risk having liver / kidney failure in the future but if the chance is minimal than I will through it. I think I will just wait and talk to my dermatologist.
  6. I think she is gorgeous. I hate that fake gigantic breasts that a lot of people seem to like.
  7. No my friends don't really comment on my skin because they know its a touchy subject...majority of them have flawless skin. But if they do say something related to my skin its usually a product they are testing that is good or something like that.
  8. Thanks for the responses. Are there any long term side effects? (This is basically the only thing holding me back from taking accutane.) I don't want to have a liver and heart failure 15 years later and regret taking Accutane but at the same time I don't want to look back at my life 15 years later and wish I had taken Accutane ...
  9. I really like shiseido sunscreen and SolBar PF Cream 50 SPF ultra. Both are waterproof, anti sweat and non-comedogenic. Shiseido has a bit of a bleaching in it too, but it isn't hydroquin type so I think it is safe.
  10. 1) I am considering trying Accutane since it seems like I have ran out of other options. I have an extremely healthy diet and I don't smoke or drink, what type of expectations should I have for Accutane + a really healthy way of living? Is it the miracle in a bottle that will give me perfect skin like everyone says it is? I haven't had my dermatologist appointment yet but all the antibiotic treatments I have tried have failed. 2) I swim about 2-3 hours a day, is it still okay for me to swim da
