I started on this mid-August of 2017, and now it's nearly been a year since I've been on it. When starting, I was definitely skeptical, based on the fact that no other acne treatments had been able to clear my stubborn, severely inflamed acne. I'm 14 now, I've had acne since I was about 9. Most people say that they go through a purge period while using this, typically at the beginning of use, but I was pretty lucky. I didn't get too many more pimples than I was getting on a weekly basis (about 4
  2. Hey it's me. A couple days ago my skin definitely did break out. I had a lot of papules. Not necessarily whiteheads but just hard lumps. I was really frustrated but it's definitely better now. I used a lot of Vaseline and that seemed to help? I hope you're doing ok so far!
  3. Ive been using it for about a week and a half, and I did seem to get more whiteheads a couple days ago, but that's about it. It's different for everyone! You're welcome!
  4. Thank you so much! Again, happy to hear it went well
  5. For sores you should definitely try L-Lysine powder. You can probably buy it at a local pharmacy. I take it every day after meals and it gets rid of acne, scarring, and will definitely help with cold sores. Look up L-Lysine and do some more research! It's definitely helped me.
  6. Hello!! Haha it's me again. Happy to hear it went well! I am currently on Epiduo and CeraVe as I said earlier Tips for Epiduo- apply only a pea sized drop to affected areas! Epiduo can dry out skin, but to prevent this moisturize daily! You'll see results very fast if your experience is like mine has been so far. CeraVe makes your skin super smooth. Be sure to work it into a lather and wash for only 10 seconds, and be super super gentle. Rubbing too hard or washing for too long can make
  7. I read this when I was in school and it made me really happy! Sorry I couldn't reply earlier. Thank you so much. I really really appreciate that you took the time to make an account and such a long reply! I totally relate to the picking part. In seventh grade I would touch my face all the time- i would pick and pop and scratch, with dirty hands. This year I have hand sanitizer with me wherever just in case i need to touch my face for whatever reason. I do have a pretty good full-coverage f
  8. Does anybody know how to keep positive while dealing with severe acne? The pictures below are from April, and I'm happy to say my skin is much, much better now. I'm not specifically looking for acne treatment advice because I've got that sorted but any hyperpigmentation product recommendations would be gladly appreciated. The last time I had clear skin, I was nine years old. I got my first blackheads in third grade. I remember my friends telling me to use Proactiv, constantly reminding m
  9. If it's done so much to improve your skin, definitely emphasize on that and make sure you get to keep it and just incorporate the products they give you into that! By the way, what face wash is it? It sounds great.
  10. Your skin scarily looks like mine before April, except better. I'd recommend some natural products since you're using a lot of aggressive treatment- Kuumba ScarCare & Repair and Aveeno Positively Radiant moisturizer works extremely well. But the best- Nixoderm. Works incredibly for hyperpigmentation and active acne. Look up some more on it. Costs about 6 dollars for one. This is probably the best product I've ever used! As for lip pimples- try not to eat greasy foods and when you b
  11. Hi!!! I totally understand! I used to get 2-hour extraction facials and they always left me with red marks afterwards. Especially my forehead, where I usually get absolutely nothing! I kept telling myself it would get better and it was only temporary, and, luckily, that was the case. If you're looking to get rid of the red marks- oatmeal face masks for post-extraction work really well. You can look up recipes online. products for hyperpigmentation- Kuumba made scar care & repair wor
  12. I've never seen skin that looks so much like mine. My hyperpigmentation is a bit less severe though- More in a kind of L shape in the middle of both cheeks. First off, I'm so sorry that you have to go though this. I know exactly how you feel. Products I've used that I see a difference with- Kuumba made scar repair & care. It's made with lots of herbs that are known to encourage regeneration and it softens dark spots. Balea (it's a German brand) Vital gegen Pigmentflecken. You can order
  13. they gave me CeraVe Hydrating Cleanser. It's worked really well so far and it makes my skin super smooth and soft. I'm not sure if they'd let you keep your current face wash- although this is the first dermatologist I've been to that actually changed my skincare routine instead of trying to put me on expensive topicals that have bad side effects. It's a possibility they might let you keep it- but it depends on who you're seeing!! you're welcome :).
  14. Hi!! I went to the dermatologist about a week ago and yes, they prescribed me an entirely new skincare routine and Epiduo, basically because Proactiv after 9 months wasn't working. Usually they will look at your skin, (the good ones do at least) ask you questions regarding diet, excercise, your current routine, etc. You'll want to be thorough with answering so they can work out what to do. If you want to treat the whole issue, let them know. My dermatologist wanted to start me off slow with a mi
