  1. WOW, 3 years off Roaccutane. I don't even know how I thought of this blog today but it just popped into my head and I said I'd come on and have a look and give an update! It's actually crazy reading back over my posts. This was where I felt I could express exactly how I was feeling about my skin with likeminded people. Its very obvious that as my skin got clearer and clearer, I felt I didn't need to blog about it! It wasn't on my mind as much. It makes me quite sad readin
  2. Hello hello, It has been well over a month since my last post. I think as the tablets become a daily routine and as your skin starts to clear up, you just seem to forget how big of a deal it was when starting on them and therefore forget to update! So lets just recap... Month 1 I was on 20mg a day - had a horrendous breakout (worst I've very had in my life) Month 2 I was upped to 30mg a day - Breakout continued and was not seeing much improvement. I was almost givi
  3. I'm due to go back to my derm on Tuesday! Last time I went to see her she wanted to double my dosage to 40mg but because I found my brreakout at that time so bad she didn't want to risk it and only upped it to 30! Hoping I can move upto 40 on Tuesday or even more... skin has gotten better but definitely still not clear.. still getting at least 2 spots everyday on top of the ones that are already here! Best of luck, let me know how your finding it and if you're getting any side effects
  4. Hey Hey... I haven't been posting much because I've been so busy with college and work etc and to be honest I just hadn't had much change to report. I met with the dermatologist on Monday. I didn't have too much to report to her apart from the fact my skin was really bad (breakout wise) and I was getting more and more cysts on my jawline that just seem to get comfortable and don't move for WEEKS! She told me she was hoping to move me from the 20mg upto 40mg but decided that we should proba
  5. Hey R, So sorry to hear about Yoko Keep your chin up xxx
  6. Awh brilliant!! Yeah I've been on it 19 days now and I definitely feel the breakout is calming down.. I still have the odd one or 2 popping up but nothing compared to what it was! Skin is just dry and lips are very dry but the stuff I'm using for it really good so can't really complain! No muscle or joint pain just yet and feel happy out... Yeah BC, I have the IUD but my skin actually started getting worse after i got it in so I have a feeling it could be something to do with that.. I might go
  7. SWEAR BY IT! (even on accutane)

I bought this a couple of months ago for my really mild acne (the odd one or 2 spots) and didn't think too much of it. I knew it worked but my skin wasn't that bad to appreciate it as much as I do now. I started roaccutane 2 weeks ago and got an AWFUL breakout. Worst I've ever had and nothing was working to help move the breakout along, until I found this little number in my drawer. I've been using it for 2 nights and 2 days (under make up) and my breakout is pretty much gone! It completely drie
  8. So it's been 2 weeks and 1 day since I started roaccutane and, I'm not going to lie, it has been really really hard. The last 2 weeks my skin broke out to the worst it has ever been. My confidence was rock bottom and I felt no amount of make up could help the situation as the texture of my skin was awful due to the dry skin caused by the accutane. I kept thinking, "nothing is going to work, I'm going to have this acne forever". As much as I'd like to post a photo to share, I'd be way too ne
  9. spoke too soon... woke up this morning with a TERRIBLE breakout all over my jawline and chin! Nightmare.
  10. Hey stressed123, How are you getting on now? I just started roaccutane a week ago (20mg) and I'm after waking up with a pretty bad break out around my chin and mouth I'm hoping this is the initial break out and will pass soon.. Did you get a bad initial breakout? Did it last long? And did you use any other spot creams to help move it along?
  11. Hello ello ello, So today marks my 1 week of being on Roaccutane. So far, I haven't had many side effects apart from the dry skin which is mainly around my nose and mouth. My skin is a little red but nothing major, kinda just looks I've a bit of a tan on my face so I can't complain! The last few days I've been getting white heads in places I wouldn't usually get them like higher on my cheeks and 2 on my forehead where I NEVER get spots. I find some of them go and come back in the same place
  12. Hey skinsecurity! I've just started on a 20mg of Roaccutane 6 days ago! Side effects are so far so bearable, but I genuinely don't know if my skin is getting better or worse. When I look back at photos I took 2 or 3 weeks ago I do think it's getting better since I've started taking the tablets, but my skin is so bumpy and I'm getting spots in places I don't usually get them like higher on my cheeks... feeling like shit I've been using a good moisturiser and then a matte make up but wouldn'

    Day 3

College was good, Thanks All my friends know I'm on roaccutane and for some reason I feel a bit more comfortable with people knowing rather than trying to act normal and feel conscious all the time! I felt my make upstarted going oily after a while, even though you can see the dryness in the make up too. I think I need to go and try some new make ups to suit what my skin is about to go through that will last throughout the day but not feel uncomfortable!
  14. Hey Heather93, I'm 23 too and just started on Roaccutane 20mg a day for 6 months... My skin has gotten a lot bumpier and haven't seen much improvement yet, although I did only start a week ago! Just curious, did you get an initial breakout?
  15. Hey R, Great to see your update seen as though I started the day after you!! I'm getting the bumps under the skin too.. some of them are pretty big and sore and feel like they're never going to go, especially on my jawline And I'm also feeling very tired too! But on the positive side, I do feel my skin looks quite nice (apart from bumpy jaw) and really glowing! It could be the moisturiser I'm using though? Have you noticed a difference in your complexion?
