  1. It sucked for me for about 8 months and then suddenly it was the BEST. THING. EVER. So frustrating to wait though! I am clear of stubborn non-inflamed acne now and my skin is even and looks healthy.
  2. I love the earth science almond aloe moisturizer (I get the unscented one) http://www.drugstore.com/earth-science-almond-aloe-moisturizer-fragrance-free/qxp141266 ingredients: Water, Glycerin, Glyceryl Stearate, Prunus Amygdalus Dulcis (Sweet Almond) Oil, Ceteareth 5, Dimethicone, Simmondsia Cinensis (Jojoba) Seed Oil, Aloe Barbadensis Leaf Juice, Panax Ginseng Root Extract, Squalane, Vegetable Oil, Glycine Soya (Soybean) Sterols, Soya Liposomes, Tocopherol, Chamomilla Recutita (Matric
  3. I'm right there with you! (I also sit in the sink to pick)
  4. I really believe that for me, switching products was a main factor in my break outs (under the skin, flesh colored but VERY stubborn and all over) I promised myself that with starting tretenoin cream I would stick to one regimen for a year and honestly I am clear and my skin tone is improving every day. As soon as I start to think about switching it up I try to remind myself of other times where I'd break out 2-3 weeks after starting something new and all the other problems (dryness, rednes
  5. I use only candlelight in the bathroom- also helps me with self esteem!! I cut my nails shorter I have a positive affirmation on my mirror I limit the time I am in the bathroom at night (biggest picking time) or go through my night routine with my partner in the bathroom too I limit my use of make up- so if I DO pick I know that I can't just "cover it up" I have been using eye lash serum (fysiko) which actually worked! It allows me to focus on something other than my skin to watch my eye l
  6. Not really... it has improved because of the supplement NAC I'm taking for it (it's a trial drug for hair pulling and skin picking) and being able to deal with a lot of my own issues surrounding the disorder and life itself has improved the severity of it. I only have one tiny mirror in my house, so little changes to avert my urges have been put in place but I haven't yet been able to get rid of it. Not really... it has improved because of the supplement NAC I'm taking for it (it's a trial dru
  7. I have recently been wondering about the same types of things! I think that one of the most terrible things acne can do is cause us to live in fear of our own appearance. Recently I have been cutting back (slowly) on products and make up in order to refocus on what is happening internally with me rather than fixation on the external. I have been able to go out anywhere recently only wearing BB cream and mascara! It has been eye opening to me to start thinking this way and I am so much happier. I
  8. Could someone please move this thread into the topical log forum? Thanks!
  9. I know what you mean!!! I am always changing my approach and spending time and energy on figuring out why my skin isn't flawless... Some days I feel like if I wasn't so concerned with it and in turn- I didn't confuse my skin by changing products/ supplements/ lifestyle etc., the problem would resolve itself. And yet I am still not patient enough! I have made it 12 weeks without changing anything and my goal is to get to 20 before I assess the condition of my skin. I will join you in tryin
  10. A few more comments from me I am really trying to stick to one consistent regimen for the entire 20 week course. THIS HAS BEEN HARD! I think I am a bit compulsive about trying and changing products as a result of feeling a bit hopeless with acne (as mild as it is) that wont budge. I have wanted to start AHA treatment almost every week but have been talking myself out of it. I am increasing the tretenoin now that I've reached 12 weeks to 2 days on 1 day off to try to get some of the bumps off
  11. Hello! I have been using Tretenoin cream .025% for 12 weeks to treat my non-inflamed acne. I use it every other night. I used topical clindmycin from Aug- September but have taken it out of my regimen with no adverse affects. My face care regimen is: for tretinoin nights: wash with dermalogica calming cleanser wait 30 mins. apply pea size amt. of tretenoin to face. on off nights: wash with dermalogica calming cleanser apply earth science almond/ aloe moisturizer I take high qual
  12. it's more expensive than baby oil but dermalogica makes a product called 'precleanse' which is made up of several different oils but is non-comegenic and works really well to remove make up and stuff. baby oil could def. lead to more clogging and has perfume in it which is aggravating to skin.
  13. you ARE so pretty!!! From your pictures I wouldn't call your acne moderate- more mild and non inflamed- looks just like mine. I feel like its especially stubborn when its mostly under the skin. I've been on Gianvi (gen. form of yaz) for a year and it helped a bit- not much- like 25% reduction. I thought I had dry skin but it turned out only the top layer was dry- I removed all the dead/ dry skin with a procedure called dermaplaning. After that I found out that I really had oily skin and was over
  14. does anyone have any good advice about finding perspective when you find yourself in the mirror thinking you have the absolute worst skin to ever have happened? I need help with this!
