  1. Thanks for the response Shadylee. It seems that the pain has gone away, but now I'm concerned about it causing breast cancer (I've done my research and see there is no link, but I'm a worrier). And there's the fact that I swear my clothes feel tighter...even though I was never one to believe that medications cause weight gain. I'm ready to throw in the towel even though I am finally seeing improvement with my acne. I just can't handle this.
  2. Hi all, After years of dealing with adult-onset cystic acne and trying everything under the sun (except for Accutane), I have now resorted to Sprionolactone. I've been on it a few weeks and ever since the start have had pretty awful breast pain. All throughout the day...shooting pains. Does this ever decrease or stop??
  3. Thanks everyone, I was pretty set on going forth with it...until someone said to me, "Are you sure you want to do this leading up to your wedding in March? I've heard it makes your skin get considerably worse before it gets better." The mere thought of having pictures taken at my wedding and me having a face full of zits is not too encouraging.
  4. Hello everyone, As I said in my other post, the other day my derm told me he wants me to go on Accutane (I've tried all other acne meds, nothing worked). I have mild cystic acne..nothing severe. I'm very apprehensive about going on Accutane, but I'm desperate for something that actually works. When I do get the cysts, they are huge and they always scar. Retin-A 0.1% has not helped for the scarring. So, I decided to pull my hair all the way back and post some pictures. Do you think my acne
  5. Thanks for the input, everyone! Thank goodness I'm not going to be going on the pill. Katy..what's this about not being allowed to do any intensive physical activity? I'm an athlete, and I've gotta do my workouts.
  6. Hi everyone, I'm 23 and I just searched a bit for any possible links between Accutane & weight gain. I ask because my derm has just told me he wants to put me on it, but I have a history of an eating disorder (I don't have one RIGHT NOW but I used to). And let me tell you, if I go on this Accutane..and I gain weight, I will immediately stop it, I can guarantee that. So I thought I'd ask if anyone has had any experiences like that. Thanks.
  7. Guess what guys...I went to the derm today, and just as I suspected, he wants to put me on Accutane. I don't know what to think of this. I already have severely dry skin (eczema) and I know this crap is going to dry me out even more. Plus, the unneccesary monthly pregnancy tests are going to be a pain. I say unneccesary because I am a firm believer of "no zing zing before the wedding ring!" haha and I'm not getting married until March. I guess I'm just kinda bummed there's nothing else I ca
  8. Hi everyone, I'm a 23 year old female and I've just about had it with my acne. I don't know what else to do. I've been through months of the following: Duricef (antibiotic) Minocycline Bactrim Retin-A 1% Benzoyl Peroxide 5% Salcylic Acid scrubs Differin Proactiv Benzaclin Clindamycin Mederma for scarring ...and none of them have worked. I don't have severe acne that covers my face, but I do have re-occuring cystic zits that come about 2-3 at a time and they leave nasty horrible scars even t
