  1. I went swimming for the first time in years... the water felt so good... I used to be an amazing swimmer. I was really running out of breath in there! Granted I had a few drinks and there was no one around until the very end (and I got scared and left as soon as people arrived). Regardless, I WENT SWIMMING!!!! If you don't get why this is a big deal, check out my photos. I almost want to cry about this in sadness or happiness...
  2. There's probably at least one day a month where all I do is obsess about my scars. I get extremely depressed about them and probably spend the night crying or just thinking all around bad thoughts. Those days come and go, and until the day comes that scarring can be cured, they will continue to come and go. I guess the biggest thing is to get your mind off it. Don't spend so much time looking in the mirror, especially at peak times when your scars look bad. For example, I know my scars lo
  3. What is the name of your doctor and where is he/she sportsguy?
  4. I'll bet a little makeup would go a long way. Don't worry though, you're extremely cute.
  5. Accutane would help. If you want something less risky you could go with a benzoyl peroxide bar, Panoxyl makes one that works great for me.
  6. I hope something comes around soon, these first days of summer when people start shedding their clothing always get me down.
  7. I think the texture would not look right and you still would have an undesirable look. Plus I don't know if the atrophic treatments would work the same way.
  8. Okay, so I've come to the conclusion that the only way to make my scars look any better will be to start with a clean slate. I looked at this article awhile ago and I think this is probably the only thing that will help me out. As opposed to red spots everywhere and uneven texture, if I do this I'll have one solid color with a bad texture but at least it will be constant. This is what I want to try, I really in my heart think it's the only type of thing that will ever be able to help me. May
  9. sd guy, how did the dermabrasions work out? where is your doctor from and contact information? also, did you do your whole back?
  10. At least it's just a color issue and now an actual skin texture thing (like mine ) you could try a peel but that should clear up within a couple years. It's really not that bad.
  11. It looks like your skin is still healing, so you shouldn't do anything to treat it until the open sores go away. After that, peels might help with the redness but there's not much you can do to treat texture on these kinds of scars.
  12. I hate to tell you this, but my back and chest look much worse. There's not much you can do, try peels if it's only a color thing. As for texture there is very little you can do. The best thing you can do for yourself is learn to live it, walk around shirtless as often as possible, smile when you look in the mirror, go outside and get tans. Learn to be happy, it gets better with time.
