  1. i do this. i have tons of pillow cases so i can switch them every couple nights, but when i can't then i will flip the pillow over/use a different corner. it sounds stupid, but for a long time i slept with a tissue under my face but i've since stopped that for the most part when i know people will see me and b/c i was using up tissues like crazy. but i've been doing it for a while and i feel like it helps. EXCEPT when fabric softener is used and then i do see more breakouts.
  2. thank you guys! i'm going to pick up some desitin right after work. ice ice ice and more ibuprofin when i get home and try out the desitin. working on not stressing too much too just curious, anyone have any clue about the hydrogen peroxide turning skin white? i'm more curious than anything now.
  3. sounds like it might just be pimples, but i can't really be sure what it is from your description and the itchy part confuses me. personally, when i get itchy, red, dry spots from over-medicating a spot on my face, i use hydrocortisone 1% for a couple days and that helps it. using that on your face is controversial though, so read about it before you do. for me, i use it more for a rash-type irritation, but it might be worth a try.
  4. felt a big painful bump under the skin on my chin sunday night. i left it alone and it wasn't coming up so last night i put a hot compress on it to get it to a head, but it never came to one. i got too eager and just squeezed the hell out of it. a TINY bit of stuff came out, but i feel like this is the kind that would have just gotton sore and red but gone away on it's own w/o ever coming to a head. i get those sometimes and i would have been much better off just leaving it alone! but now i made
  5. don't know if you're still struggling, but wanted to let you know sprintec has also worked wonderfully for me. I went back on bc after being off for a year and went from OTC lo to OTC to OCyclen to the generic (Sprintec). It was weird b/c I was on each for at least three months and didn't really start to see any improvement until I got on the generic (Sprintec). It's been about 5 months on it and its working great, so just hang in there.
  6. what kind of aloe do you use, Eryka? i really love aloe too, its pretty much one of the only things i can use on my skin anymore. i use fresh aloe from a plant i have in my room but the leaves are basically only stubs now since i've used it so much.i want to switch to a packaged aloe vera so my plant has a chance to regrow. what brand do you use and does it contain a lot of added ingredients? has anyone used fresh aloe and packaged aloe both, and does the packaged one work as well?
  7. thanks for all your replies! i appreciate all the helpful info you guys are giving! i was getting kind of confused for a while b/c i was reading that this particular AHA lotion may irritate sensitive skin, but that it was also really good for people with really dry flaky skin, which confused me b/c i figured it you had flaky dry skin then adding an AHA lotion would make you flake even more. i really want to try some kind of AHA eventually, but i think you are right about my skin barrier, skins
  8. i was looking at the one w/ spf but thats just b/c i didnt know there were other kinds. the sensitive skin one sounds like the best bet. what is the difference between this one and the regular though... is it less effective?
  9. my skin has become very very sensitive over the past few months, but i have lots of red marks on the jaw/chin area id like to get rid of. i used to be able to use bp 10% and SA for years, then that dried me out and caused horrible red inflamation where i put it and i had to resort to tea tree oil which eventually did the same. so basically now i can only handle lots of moisturizer, neosporin cream, and pure aloe from a plant... and the neosporin is starting to irritate me too. so basically i wa

  11. so my skin has finally stopped breaking out since i've been back on birth control for a while now, but its not clear because i keep picking at it! even if its clear, i will inspect in the mirror and find things to pick at and extract, like these really small under the skin bumps that i squeeze to get the hard ball like thing out of, and sometimes when i do this they just get really red and 100x more noticeable than they were to begin with. but its so addicting to do it and i FEEL like im helping
  12. i am on OTC lo also and did notice hair loss too, pretty much right away. i knew it might be a side effect but i wasnt too worried b/c i was on the patch (which has much more estrogen) in the past w/ no hair loss. mine doesn't seem to be as drastic as yours, but it does worry me a bit to see more hair come out in the shower and when i brush my hair. i keep my hair up in a bun most of the time so when i do take it down it seems like a ton comes out at once. i just finished my third pack of OTC lo
  13. SA is salicylic acid. and unfortunately I don't have a way to post a picture. the spots have been healing up nicely though w/ lots of moisturizer and more hydrocortisone. i think ive just been over washing and drying out my skin w/ products so ive been laying off that. the less i bother my skin the better it does does. anyone have any tips in general on how to keep moisture in really dry skin? bc its getting cold here quickly and i can already tell my skin will be extra dry this winter i'd like
  14. i wasn't sure where to put this but figured people on this board would have experience with redness and dry skin so it was worth a shot. basically my skin has recenly become very sensitive and i overused bp and got raw, dry, itchy skin. used tons of moisturizer and hydrocortisone 1% for a few days and it cleared up great. i didnt realize SA was reacting horribly w/ my skin too until it was too late and now areas around my chin/cheek are red, itchy, dry, etc. i have been trying to moisturize and
  15. i understand what you are saying and your points are valid. i have read all of the information that has come with my packet of bcps along with the others i have considered taking, and have still wanted more info. i found the pharmacodynamics and kinetics very helpful but i wanted something even more in depth about the nature of hormones and their exact mechanism of action in the body. specifically how the different progestins used in bcps differ from each other (not just how norgestimate works),
