  1. Hey readers! It's been over a year since I've posted. I must say, what a journey it has been. Over the years, I have tried so many different products in hopes of finding one that will cure my problem; acne. I started to get acne when I was 16 years old, before that, my skin was clear and smooth. Never would I have imagined my face covered in spots and bumps. But it happened. And it was embarrassing, and made me feel really self conscious. I began to experiment with different cleansers, toners
  2. Hey everyone! So...over the past couple of years I've been observing my skin. I have come to the conclusion that my diet has by been the reason why my acne keeps coming back. I know 100% that it's the sugary foods I've been eating. It's just so hard to stay away from sweet stuff. It's an addiction. For the last month, I've been drinking a lot of 'green monsters' (a.k.a fresh squeezed smoothie out of raw spinach, banana, and almond milk) every single morning. Wow, not only does this stuff g
  3. I have discovered an amazing skin care line called Suki about a month ago. I've been using their Exfoliate Foaming Cleanser 3 times a week in the evening before bed in place of my regular cleanser (dove soap). It has done a tremendous job at brightening up my face and the acne marks that I've been dreading to get rid of for a long time! I am so in love with this cleanser. it's more like a gentle scrub, but since my skin is a bit sensitive...I use it only a couple of times a week to give m
  4. try it for a week. see if you start to see a difference. honestly, vitamin A is great for your skin, but it's more beneficial if you take orally.
  5. if most of your acne is on your cheeks, it might be due to poor digestion. so watch what you eat!
  6. use a dry towel that is not being used by anyone else!
  7. it's actually very good for your body and your skin. running does not effect acne. it's a form of exercise, which helps increase blood circulation. as you run, you begin to sweat letting over the impurities and dirt purge out of your pores. and if that crap stays on the surface and you don't take a shower immediately after running...your skin will most definitely get clogged, leading to breakouts. change your pillowcase often! watch what you eat. diet has a lot to do with it. drink plent
  8. have you been stressed out about something lately? do you eat a healthy balanced diet? maybe you're using the wrong products for your skin type? are you drinking enough water? those are some things to consider. it's most likely an internal issue.
  9. dove soap (original) does an awesome job. it cleans your skin really well and doesn't irritate it. purpose gentle cleansing wash is also another great cleanser. it's best for normal/oily or combination skin. It removes makeup, cleans impurities and dirt off your face. It lathers great, it's gentle, and can be found in any drugstore. if your skin is dry or sensitive, try burt's bees soap bark & chamomile deep cleansing cream. it's soothing, creamy, and leaves your skin really soft and moistur
  10. I'm pretty obsessed with skin. I observe other people's skin a lot, I also browse through pictures of celebrities and models with perfect skin, pin them up on my wall to make it my 'goal' to regain my clear skin and complexion that I once had. I keep trying different products to get my skin back to the way it was, but it's been a couple of years already and it's kind of making me depressed. I keep wanting to improve, but nothing works. I hate it. I can't even step outside to the deli without put
  11. BEST - Dove Beauty Bar cleans & moisturizes my skin - Purpose Gentle Cleansing Wash - Dickinson's Witch Hazel Daily Facial Toner really helped clear up my skin and reduce redness. - Queen Helene Mint Julep Mask - Clearasil Ultra Vanishing Acne Cream has glycolic acid & benzoyl peroxide. perfect combination for treating pimples and reducing the red marks left from acne - L'Oreal Skin Genesis Oil Free Day Lotion SPF 15 & Night Complex Treatment both made my skin's texture smooth, soft
  12. oh and i forgot one thing, it's best NOT to use the same moisturizer that you use in the morning because it has SPF and specifically meant to keep your skin protected from the sun and moisturized throughout the day. instead, get cetaphil moisturizing lotion and jojoba oil...if you're experiencing dryness...then this will definitely help
  13. no, it most definitely won't dry your skin out at all. It actually gets rid of any tightness or dryness you may feel after washing your face with a cleanser. I use basically the same products as you. The purpose gentle cleansing wash and olay complete are good choices. It will work well with your regimen.
  14. I think that a toner definitely helps. Witch Hazel is your best bet. I use the Dickinson's brand and it's amazing. Keeps my skin super clean and free of any dirt and oil. I find that it also helps shrink my pores and pimples. It makes my skin more radiant and glowy.
  15. Use Purpose Gentle Cleansing Wash! It's very very mild but it cleans well. It also takes all my makeup off. I think it's perfect for people with oily t-zones. While I was using it, I did not develop any new blemishes and it gave me time to heal my currents ones. So definitely try Purpose. I personally think it's a lot better than Cetaphil.
