  1. I was using Benzaclin in the a.m. (as you can see from my regimen in my signature), and while it was really keeping my skin clear it was also drying it out something terrible. I was looking about ten years older than I really was. I couldn't even smile without feeling like my face was cracking. So what else can I use as a topical in the a.m.? I've been on antibiotics and don't want to use them, and birth control pills have some nasty side effects for me. I've heard good things about Finacea, bu
  2. I had no idea! I just sent in the $15 rebate for Benzaclin, but I thought it was new prescriptions only. Thank you!!!
  3. Thank you very much sweetheart519 and Kalia2!
  4. I would highly recommend the Tazorac/Benzaclin combination. I'm 34, I've been battling acne since I was 13, and for the first time since I was 13 I don't have a single pimple on my face. Yes, you will have a bad initial breakout during the first weeks of using Tazorac, but STICK WITH IT. I thought of giving up a couple times and I am so glad I didn't. Good luck!
  5. I've read that it is not good to moisturize with RAM because it inhibits the time-release microsphere formula. I'm sorry, I can't tell you where I read it, but maybe google it?
  6. I use Benzaclin in the a.m., and I'd like to use the Eucerin Q10 moisturizer over it. So, I have a question--will the anti-oxidant ingredients in the Q10 moisturizer cancel out the pro-oxidants in the Benzaclin, rendering it useless?
  7. Well, I had to discontinue use of the DHC cleansing oil b/c it was drying out my skin too much, what with my starting Benzaclin. So now I am using Pond's cold cream to take my sunscreen and makeup off at the end of the day, and following with Clean & Clear sensitive skin foaming cleanser. My skin isn't tight and uncomfortable anymore.
  8. i guess that's the hypopigmentation side effect of Finacea. it hasnt happened to me so far. and i hope it wont ever. sorry it ddnt work out for you. gluck on Tazorac. how long have u been on tazorac? Did you see an initial breakout? I have been on Tazorac for about a year and I love it! I didn't get an initial breakout because I'd been using Retin-A gel for about six years before that.
  9. I'm using Benzaclin once a day, in the morning, and it working wonders! However, the $45 price tag every two months is getting pricey. Does anyone know when a generic might be available in the United States?
  10. Hi, I used Finacea for two and a half months and it was horrible. My skin itched like crazy and turned very pale. People were asking me if I was sick! I started using Tazorac gel at night and Benzaclin during the day and my skin looks wonderful so far! (Knock on wood.) I don't know what the problem was--I don't have very sensitive skin (obviously, since I use Taz and Benzaclin), so who knows. It just didn't work for me.
  11. Hi Kim! :) Thanks for moving this to the retinoid logs, I great appreciate it. Take care, Kim
  12. Hi, I've been a long-time lurker so I decided to start benefiting from wisdom of you all! I've been suffering from moderate acne since I was 13, I'm 34 now. (Imagine, I actually thought acne was going to end once I was out of my teens!) Here's my regimen, which is working for me: a.m.: Aquanil cleanser Benzaclin gel Eucerine Extra Protective spf 30 p.m.: DHC cleansing oil Aquanil cleanser *wait 30 minutes* apply Tazorac .1% gel Now, questions for you all: 1) Do you have to wait to apply
