  1. I use Veet with good results (about 6-7 minutes) and my hair is fairly coarse. I tried this other stuff that comes in "Margarita" and "cosmopolitan" scent (can't recall the name) and it was a total waist of time.
  2. I use Estee Lauder Double Wear, and it works great (on top of sunblock spf 55). When you develop the "crusting" it makes the pigment hold even better than with normal-smooth skin. It looks a little "masky" if you look up-close, so I try to stay away at least 2 feet away from people for the first 3-4 days, haha maggie -- so you wore it RIGHT after Fraxel? Didn't it look funny with all that bronzing, i.e. was makeup able to cover it all up? Yes, I used it about 5 hours after fraxel and
  3. Artic, Don't beat yourself about your choices. There was no way of predicting the outcome. If a professional was of the opinion that he could help you, why would you have rather listened to people on a stupid message board? You gathered information, made a decision, and acted on it. There is always the possibility of a negative outcome, which happenned on this case. But now is time to move on. Use the same strongwill and resourcefulness that got you in this situation to get out of it. Ideally

  5. A month ago I had my first treatment, and one of the things the doctor prescribed was cortisone. After some on this board said that the cortisone was counterproductive, I stopped taking it on the first day. Anyways, the inflamation on my face was minor except under an area under my right eye- and it turns out that it developed some pigmentation identical to the one in your photo (just on the areas that were inflamed). After talking with the doctor he said that he was aware of the theoretical dow
  6. I am 19 days post-Fraxel. When I press/touch my face skin (i.e. to put on a cream) I feel like a "needling" feeling. It used to be worse, but I still get the feeling on my cheeks. Any one experience this? Could it be some of the internal micro-wounding still healing? I am concerned because I was instructed to restart retin-A after 2 weeks, but mabe it is delaying the healing process?? Thanks for any feedback.
  7. Skimpywimpy- do you have any idea if fraxel breakouts can be prevented with antibiotics? I agree that the culprit must be bacteria that got in from the microscopic wounds (I had to use the blue die). I got them after my first fraxel, although they look a lot better almost 5 days post treatment. I'm surprised they don't give that as a standard protocol (assuming it works)
  8. Yes, they are just like whiteheads, I took of one and it came right off. I need to leave them alone ! :shifty: Glad to hear yours dried up!! I'm going to try drinking tea myself, hopefully that will help totally get rid of the swelling.
  9. uh, steroids reduce swelling by stopping dna synthesis. you're screwing yourself royally taking them right after fraxel. in fact steroids lead to thinned out skin Well yeah, I read on the Reliant website "some doctors advise taking steroids after fraxel but it is unknown if it will affect the healing process". So I just stopped taking it after the fist day. I must say that I look totally notmal now though (26 hours after), but cant wait for the brown crusty skin to peel off! maggi
  10. I had my first treatment yesterday and have slight swelling under my right eye, but already went out and look pretty normal (with makeup). I took cortisone, maybe that is helping me (plus Im olive skinned) uh, steroids reduce swelling by stopping dna synthesis. you're screwing yourself royally taking them right after fraxel. in fact steroids lead to thinned out skin Well yeah, I read on the Reliant website "some doctors advise taking steroids after fraxel but it is unknown if it

  12. I had Fraxel today and was given cortisone and a cream called biafine. Both are prescription. To wash my face they gave me Purpose and the dotor REALLY emphazised sunscreen. So far my redness is really down and it dos not hurt anymore (it has bee about 6 hours since I had it). So far my redness is very light (pink) and light swelling below the eyes. I am really hoping I don't have hyperpigmentation because my skin is very olive. Hope this helps
