I would love to take care of my skin rather than pick at it, and find a system that helps my skin rather than irritate it. Also, I've been told in order to help yourself you must help others like you so, here I am. :)

  1. Anyone tried it? I have sensitive skin so I can't use anything with fragrance. I also have regular and cystic acne and nothing seems to help. I've tried most of everything but zinc. Was thinking of buying some just so sick of wasting my money.

    Always been a picker...

I'm about to turn 28 and I've been a picker my entire life. I have depression, anxiety, add, pcos, and that's all I can think of at the moment, that would affect my skin anyway. I read a lot of self help articles and books. I recently started covering and turning around my mirrors, keeping my nails very short, avoiding touching my face with my bare hands, and I see a therapist. I've tried All kinds of cleansers, the oil cleansing method, just water, not wearing makeup, antibiotics, changing my d

    Acne/skin picking journey

I'm the worst picker I've ever heard of if I can I will sit in front of a mirror and pick all day. I'm very ocd about it I have scabs and scars all over my face. I'm always reading self help articles and books for it one thing that has been helping me is avoiding mirrors. I cover them or turn them around. I also avoid touching my face with my bare hands. When I wash it I used washcloths. When I put lotion and makeup on I use cotton balls, brushes, and sponges. I have to admit, I still pick whe

Please help skin picking is ruining my life!!!

I'm about to turn 28 and have been a skin picker my entire life. Growing up I had clear skin but since my first pregnancy I've had acne, regular and cystic. I pick at that crap until I get it out. Because of it, I have scabs and scars all over my face. I read a lot of self help articles and books. I've been keeping my nails short, covering and turning my mirrors around, and trying to not touch my face with my bare hands. It helps for me to not pick all throughout the day, I just need to not pic

  6. Same here. I know I'm ugly, not because the acne makes me but because I'm addicted to picking at it. I'm ocd about it. I pick and at it until that crap comes out. My face is covered in scabs and scars. I don't think anything will help if it's due to hormones, which is what causes mine. I hope you have good luck with the meds. If mine doesn't go away I might have to try Accutane. I think that's the one thing I haven't tried yet.

    Crying now

So I used the Dove sensitive skin bar and smeared a ton of Cetaphil lotion on my face before bed thinking that maybe the Proactiv was drying my face out even more than the oil cleansing method, which I don't get how can be drying. My face looks a lot better, still itches like crazy though. Hopefully getting ready for the day and repeating the process will help.
  8. I feel your pain. I started getting acne with my first pregnancy and it hasn't gone away. Just getting worse and it's been 6 yrs. I have painful cysts on my chin too. I've seen a dermatologist and it did nothing for me. I did ask my PCP about spironolactone just this morning. He told me I'd have to change my diet. Being that I've been eating a lot of fruit lately because everything else makes my stomach turn, I can't take it.

    Crying now

I'm 27 about to turn 28. I started getting acne while pregnant with my oldest 6 yrs ago. It hasn't gone away and it's just getting worse. I have itchy pimples in my hairline, all over my forehead, my eyebrows, jawline, and I get cystic pimples on my chin quite often. I've tried everything from most drugstore brands, taking antibiotics, clinique, proactive, the oil cleansing method, just water, and well, maybe everything there is to try. I've seen a dermatologist and that did nothing. I guess I s
