  1. Okay - thanks for the info. I thought it might be cystic but I wasn't sure. I wonder if I'm not exfoliating enough. I have basically just been letting water run over my face in the shower for a past 6 months without any sort of rubbing or washing with cleansers. I've basically been trying the "water-only" caveman regimen. I guess it's safe to say at this point that it's not going to work for me like it has others. I may go back to trying some sort of gentle cleanser but I'm not sure which
  2. In mid-January of this year I decided to stop doing the Acne.org BP regimen after 7 years. My skin seemed fine a for couple of months but then I slowly started to get acne on my forehead again. It has only gotten worse since then. I have only been rinsing my face with water - just letting the water run over it, not scrubbing it at all. No chemicals or cleaners or anything has touched my face since then. The acne is much worse than it ever was before I started the regimen. So I'm wondering
  3. I feel you. Try looking elsewhere in the diet forums and start with alternativista's posts here: Depending on how much you know, it will take you 1 to 3 months to fully understand everything. Read though all the posts on each board too since she updates the information periodically. I stopped the juicing after 6 months, but it worked considerably well for me. It didn't get rid of all my acne, but alas allowed me to realize that nutrition DOES play a role. Diet and Exercise and Lifestyle
  4. Hi all, just me reporting back in. I have been doing the juicing/no sugar/more water portion of this regimen for about 8 months now. While it is indeed really healthy I do not think it has done much for my acne. About 2 months ago I took the plunge and stopped using BP at all on my forehead as a test to see what would happen. Nothing has touched my forehead except for water since then. Everything seemed fine up until about 2 weeks ago, when I began to get some cysts there. It has only gott
  5. @TreatAcne - awesome! Glad to hear it is working for you. I also want to give an update. I have been juicing since August 17th of last year (almost 5 months now). I have only missed about 6 days or so since I started it. I tried doing to the supplements of B5 and L-Carnitine but my body did not agree with them, so I stopped taking those. I'm not sure how effective the juicing regimen has been on the actual acne itself. My skin definitely felt better at first and became a little less oi
  6. Hello! I would try considering sticking it out for the three month period if you can. Acne can remain unnoticed underneath the skin for up to six weeks before finally emerging it's ugly head... THEN it takes up to 3 weeks for it to possibly pop... THEN the healing time can take up to two weeks AS LONG as you didn't pop it, otherwise another spot (or spots) would show up right next to it. Cysts take a while to submerge AND go away, it's different for anyone. My top neck, just underneath my jaw, h
  7. Well, I'm 7 weeks in and my progress appears to have stagnated. I guess I jumped the gun a bit with my previous post. I am still getting large painful cysts on my neck. It almost seems like it's good for a few days and feels like it's getting better and then suddenly I'll have some new cysts setting up camp on my neck. Just like before I started this thing. My oil production hasn't gone down any further. I still feel like I've got an oil film on my skin by the end of day. The cysts I am g
  8. Just me checking in: I will have been on this regimen for 4 weeks now as of tomorrow. I have been following the regimen as outlined by wingedserpent to the letter with 1 exception - I started the L-Carnitine and Pantothenic Acid (B5) about 10 days after I started juicing. My results so far: 1. Almost instantly - probably 1-2 days - my skin felt much smoother and softer. 2. 4-5 days - my energy levels were MUCH higher. Didn't see a whole lot of acne improvement just yet. 3. 2 weeks
  9. @wingedserpent, When during the regimen did you stop using BP completely? Did you wait until the 3 month mark or did you do it earlier?
  10. Thanks for that insight - makes sense. I'll report back in a few weeks with progress!
  11. Okay - you've convinced me. I just ordered a juicer and I can't wait to get started on this. Is it hard to get used to the taste of the juice? Vegetables aren't the tastiest things in the world to me. Also, when you say cutting sugar was key for you - do you mean anything that has sugar in it? Or just stuff that's obviously loaded with sugar such as donuts, candy, confections, etc. I very rarely eat that stuff now but I do eat things that have some added sugar in them.

  13. Are there any other success stories here from people who stuck with it? I see a few throughout the thread but not many. I'm at my wits end with this acne and I am willing to give this a fair shake. I have had acne for about 10-11 years now. I've done different antibiotics and topicals over the years with temporary results. I have been on benzoyl peroxide (Dan's regimine) for about 7.5 years now and it's never worked 100%. I'd say I got around 70% effectiveness from it but was still never
  14. I will try Paula's choice skin toner. The skin around my mouth is ALWAYS dry, especially after I wash my face. Hopefully that will help. I use a moisturizer that has sunscreen with SPF15 in it (Neutrogena). I have been using it for most of my time on the regimen along with Dan's BP and cleanser. It worked fine for a while but my skin is gradually getting worse over time. I am religious about putting on sunscreen when I go outside since I have very fair skin and would burn easily anyway eve
  15. I'm trying to get off the Acne.org regimen. I've been on it for close to 7 years now (since I was 20) and my skin looks horrible and always feels dry no matter how much moisturizer I put on. I have managed to ramp down successfully to doing it only once a day in the mornings, 7 days a week. I just recently tried to ramp it down again by only doing it once a day on week days and skipping the weekends. After a couple weeks of doing this, I now have several huge ugly cysts on my forehead as a r
