  1. Thanks for the replies. greentiger - I have an awful ingrown hair problem and I've heard peppermint oil slows down beard growth. I figure less shaving = less irritation, plus my beard grows extremely fast.
  2. Hi all, didn't know which was the appropriate folder for this. I want to start using peppermint oil on my face and I was looking for some advice from those who have used it - what is the best way to apply? How should I dilute it? Any other advice? Thanks.
  3. Thanks. And you've had no adverse effects from taking that much daily? And what is the theory behind niacin helping with oily skin?
  4. Any supplement you would recommend taking that you swear has had an effect on your acne?
  5. I thought they were blackheads too at first, but they're clearly not. Does this sound like a type of fungus to anyone?
  6. Ok, I will preface this by saying I know it wasn't the smartest thing in the world, but I used a pin to pop a couple pimples on my forehead near my hairline. I did sterilize the needle, but now there are several "black dots" where I went under the skin. Nothing red or inflamed but just like 4-5 small dots, almost like pen marks which seem to be below the surface of the skin. What does this sound like? Has anyone had anything like this before? Any help would be appreciated.
  7. Are you taking 5000 specifically for acne or because you found out you were vitamin d deficient ?
  8. I posted this in the main forum - didn't realize there was a separate vitamin section: Does anyone take olive leaf extract? If so, please relate your experiences. I have started taking it, mostly to see if it helps with a fungal skin infection, but I also read it has a host of other benefits including helping with acne. But I am confused about the right dosage as well as the cycling periods. I am currently taking 2000 mg daily (500mg 4x a day) Is that too much? Not enough? Thanks.
  9. Can you just go and get a Vitamin D test or do you have to go to a usual doctor checkup? Does anyone know how much it costs?

  11. andrewharv - The only reason I was bringing up hairloss is because zinc is known to increase testosterone which could be potentially damaging to follicles that are prone to DHT. Do you also take copper? I've read that zinc depletes copper. Also, how long were you on 50 mg before you noticed any skin difference?
  12. So basically if I'm taking a 30 mg supplement, I am only actually absorbing around 13-14 mg?
  13. Can someone with actual knowledge/experience educate me a little? There is so much conflicting information about zinc out there that it's very difficult to make any conclusions. I want to take it, but do not want to take too much. I suffer from mild breakouts, but I also suffer from male-pattern baldness/hair loss . I know too much zinc can be damaging ie raising testosterone and then possibly DHT. Also, it's not supposed to be taken with calcium? So what is a good dosage? Best type? Wh
  14. Just looking for recommendations for good all around Cleansers/Scrubs? One that helps control blemishes and oil and also gives skin a nice tone. So which is the best? Clean & Clear? St Ives? Clearasil? And I realize most "blemish cleansers" have salicylic acid but what other ingredients are beneficial? thanks.
  15. thanks for the link. very informative. i'm experimenting with 4000iu right now. i always thought that seemed like a lot but with minimal direct sun exposure, i know i can't be getting enough from the sun itself.
