You might call this paranoia....but..... Does it matter what food we take roaccutane with? I have been taking mine at breakfast...which usually consists of cereal/milk with a bannana. The roaccutane is taken after with a glass of water.

I've been told to take it once a day. I don't think it really matters though....but really, you should ask your doc or derm.

Another question, I've only been on roaccutane 3 days and I have an insane amount of whiteheads. Coincidence? Or is this the roaccutane just starting to bring it all to the surface....It seems way to quick.

Sorry, I just created a new thread for this question...But I will ask it here too. I started roaccutane 3 days ago. For the first 2 weeks I am on 20mg of Roaccutane a day. Then I will go up to 40mg a day. I'm just curious, am I most likley to get dry skin in the first few weeks seeing I'm on such a low dosage? I have extremely oily skin. Thanks in advanced.

JayC, I am telling you, wether or not roaccutane "cures" acne, it is advertised as being a "cure". Does that mean it is? I don't know. My dad had sever cystic acne, he took roaccutane and hasn't gotten a zit since. At the moment, I am looking through this booklet I got from the dermotologist...It is calling roaccutane a cure for acne. So despite wh -

^ I'm sorry, but I think you are a little confused. Various sources I have read (and been told - eg. dermotologist) have said that Accutane "cures" 80% of people that take it on their first course. Perhaps you a right though, whatever the case is....80% of people that take roaccutane never get acne again. EDIT: I read that the chemical in roaccutane remains in the body after treatment, maybe that is why it "cures" acne. -
I got a blood test a week ago, and in 7days I will commence roaccutane. I know about all of the side-effects, yet I wanted to know more. Nothing suprised me...except for one website. It is called http://www.roaccutanesurvivors.com/. It did scare me a little, however...I will still go through with roaccutane. Now, that site is obviously very biased. Perhaps even exhaggerated. But some of the side effects mentioned on that website go well beyond dry skin. The webmaster describes these effect

Hey guys, I'm a 16year old male with moderate acne. I have been on various medications and all have helped me out very much up untill my body becomes accustomed to the antibiotic. Previous medications include ERYTHROMYCIN, MINOCYCLINE, KEFLEX and now I am on DOXYCYCLINE (just starting my fourth week). For the first time ever, I have been given a cream....It is Tretinoin. I knew nothing about this med. untill I researched it...and apparently your skin gets worse before it gets better. Well lik
