    Microneedling Journey

I've had such good luck with chemical exfoliation, but the results are sort of stagnant at this point. It seems I'm at a point of maintaining where I am now. I have seen a couple active eruptions, lately with the weather change. But otherwise, just working on the scars. So, enter microneedling.

Overall it seems like some minor changes for the better. Getting there maybe. I just want those lines to go away!

It always seems like one side of my face is redder than the other. Overall not a lot of change head on. I'm secretly hoping for forehead line reduction to be a thing.

I definitely think I see a difference on this side after three months, though. And overall hypermigmentation is much better.

    Three month update

    From the album: Microneedling Journey

It's a little over three months since I started. I've been using a 0.5, although I started at a .25. I don't know if I see a difference on this side or not.
  6. I've been hearing a lot about this microneedling over the last year and had considered giving it a try. But it wasn't until I heard a coworker raving about it that I thought I should actually go for it. Basically, you're rolling dozens of tiny needles all over your face, causing controlled injury to the layers of skin and forcing the body to increase collagen production. This improves, apparently, fine lines, scarring, hyperpigmentation, and skin firmness. There are different needle length

So it's been just about a month since I've started with microneedling. I don't feel like I've seen a lot of physical progress, but my skin feels soft as cream.

    One month progress

    From the album: Microneedling Journey

It's been just about a month. I don't see a physical reduction in the pitted scars. But my skin is suuuper smooth and it seems like my overall color tone is improving.

So the big red hyperpigmentation on these cheek is definitely already smaller. In the first pictures it had just stopped being active and was really dark and wider. It's definitely close to going away here.

Right before my first time microneedling using a 0.25 roller.

    AHA & Retinol

I've started using Paula's Choice 8% AHA and Paula's Choice 1% Retinol to combat pitted scarring, damaged pores, and hyperpigmentation due to years of cystic acne. My actual breakouts are very infrequent, but it's time to get rid of the uneven texture.

I've been going through a lot of changes lately, including a big move, that resulted in a minor break out and, of course, hyperpigmentation.

    Ch-ch-ch-changes

So many changes since my last post, and only a few of them related to my skin. About a month ago I moved from Asheville to Greensboro for a job promotion. And while it has been an amazing opportunity, it's also been hectic. I've been sick twice during that time, including during the actual move itself. I have had to make a lot of adjustments. Although I have been good about keeping up with my skincare during that time. One of the set backs has been that anytime I am presented with a differ
  15. Well, I'm coming up on a year already! Slowly but surely seeing progress and making moves towards the skin I've always wanted. I have been feeling disheartened as of late as I sort of felt like I had stopped seeing and progress or change. Everything seems to be pretty stagnant and I have become more focused on procuring quality makeup and learning makeup tricks to cover up the rest of what's left. I've always known that chemicals at these levels weren't going to remove physical scars (if anyt

    7 Months

So it's been about 7 months since I started my new skin chair regimen. The physical pitted scars are still prevalent, but so much of the hyperpigmentation is gone. So much better than where I started last year!

I took at no filter selfie at work today in horrible bathroom lighting to commemorate the moment I looked it the mirror and wasn't disgusted with what I saw. So glad, in this moment, to have started my journey.

    Turning Point

So, in the past two weeks I've and two really defining moments for my skin. One happened late last week at work. A coworker came up and asked what I was doing to my skin because it looked so much better. Needless to say this meant a ton to me. Especially as I knew it wasn't empty as it was unprompted and from someone I'm not close with. I considered this a win. And then there was today, also at work. I went to the bathroom and as I was washing my hands I actually LOOKED in the mirror. I a
