funny you made this thread. I just got my hair colored, and I just bought Garnier Fructis...now I have fine hair, but my hair is actually more dry than anything else(but of course my face is acne prone). Now I only used it this morning, and I liked it..but it is pretty thick(both the shampoo and conditioner) which may not be good for oily hair. I used to use Herbel Essences for colored hair, and that used to kind of dry my hair it..so maybe, since you seem to have oilier hair than me..that may w

Hey! Just wondering if any of you fine ladies and gents can help me with my current dilemma. I have supershort (think pixie) red hair. I used John Frieda Radiant Red Shampoo/Conditioner. Definitely keeps the red bright for a longer time, by the way. BUT My skin's finally cleared up... with the exception of around my hairline.. and the only change I've made is using that shampoo/conditioner. So the cause is quite obvious. And anyhow.. I'm going back to my natural brunette shade.. and.. unfort

I'd suggest Biore Shine Control Moisturizer, or Biore Skin Balancing Moisturizer (as it's the same thing, they just changed the name very recently) I have super-oily skin. But every morning I use Biore Shine Control Foaming Cleanser (or Skin Recharging Foaming Cleanser, as it's now called), then Biore Triple Action Astringent w/a cotton pad, topped off by the moisturizer I mentioned above already. Has worked miracles. Looked good under my foundation (back when i wore foundation) However, I w

So frustrating.. my face is finally clear, but my body's another story. Warm weather & I can't wear short sleeves because of the hideous beakouts on the uppermost part of my arms! The breakout hasn't really worsened, but I'm impatient, and it's taking awhile for everything to fade. I try really hard not to touch it other than to clean it. I'm also very pale, so every spot sticks out like a sore thumb, and I unfortunately refuse to tan, which I know doesn't clear you up but can make your

I figure before I share my, uhm, miraculous experience, it would be wise to describe my skin type to some degree, as what may have worked for me, may not necessarily work with others. So to start off, I've got mild-moderate acne on my face(& reallllly oily skin). Used to be a lot worse (big, painful cystic acne) before I saw a dermatologist & got meds. But my medications/cleansing regimens have never made my face completely free of blemishes, but I figured could always easily cover those -
My Mom Is So Critical of the Way I Dress
Marla Singer. replied to acne_battle's topic in Cosmetics & grooming
"Dont wear jeans! No one at that party is gonna be wearing jeans. You need to dress appropriately for the party. You want to look your age. People treat you differently when you dress up" Firstly, who the hell cares how you're treated? Anyone with an independent, functional brain doesn't act differently toward anyone, especially at a party for crying out loud, based on how they feel about your choice of clothing. My mom used to say that kind of stuff too. Then she realized I didn't care about -
Damn. Well. The L'Oreal Infallible Foundation did not cooperate with my skin after the first week. I started getting pimples and blackheads on my cheeks, when I NEVER have any.. Also started making my face shinier throughout the day, which is unfortunate... Back to the drawing board.

I have the same problem! EVERY sunscreen turns my naturally oily face into slime! BUT I found something that works for me perfectly! It may work for you, too. I guess it would depend on how often you go out in the sun. If SPF20 is okay for you, then I highly recommend Neutrogena Healthy Skin Enhancer. It's a tinted moisturizer. Oil Free. SPF 20. Also contains retinol which can help reduce/prevent signs of aging (I don't know how old you are, but it's really never too early to start preventin

I prefer Lip Balm... specifically Neutrogena MoistureShine Tinted Lip Balm. SPF 20 & has a decent range of colors - natural looking as well as semi-dramatic shades (like a pale sort of red or purple). I have a thin, pale face w/really full, bright lips & large round eyes, so I prefer to emphasize my eyes & leave my lips a more natural shade. Lipstick's too harsh on my features... I look like a clown. I HATE lipstick.. it always smudges somehow, and then my face is stained! (maybe I

Cover Girl Professional Loose Powder
Marla Singer. replied to clearskinismine's topic in Cosmetics & grooming
I've used CG loose powder for a few years now. LOVE it! Never had any problems with it. I searched awhile ago for a loose poweder with SPF, too, because I rely on my foundation to provide my daily sun protection, so it sucks when I'm pressed for time and either have to pass up sun protection & just use my loose poweder, or be late and throw on my foundation first. Anyway I didn't find a "loose" powder w/spf, however I did find a pressed powder - Neutrogena Healthy Defense Protective Powder -
Out of curiousity, how old are you? Just wondering because when I was a bit younger, like 17 (I'm 22 now...god I feel old!), I did care more about my boyfriends seeing me without makeup, no matter how many compliments per day they dropped on my head. Adolescense is the phase in our lives where we're truly finding our Selves, developing our own identities/true values/future plans in life. Questioning our parents, and everything we've known. Along with the physical changes, too, of course. Basical

is there a connection

I've got mild facial acne and moderate acne on my shoulders. I'm 22 now, and my shoulder acne was at its worst at 16 &17, and then it lessened to just a pimple or two every once in awhile. Last spring though, I was prescribed Adderall XR for my ADHD. Since then my acne on my upper arms/shoulders has returned with a fricken vengeance! I take prescription 500mg Ampicillin & wash w/prescription benzoyl peroxide body wash, but it just keeps right on coming back. My face hasn't been affecte -
Orgasms and Acne

...and I always thought masturbation lead to God killing a kitten, or genitals just suddenly falling off.. now I have to worry about it causing zits too?! There's seriously no substantial correlation there. If this chick has cystic problems with her ovaries, then perhaps she's got some hormonal imbalances... hormonal imbalances from ongoing cystic problems could sporadically aggravate acne.. which makes slightly more sense than a few pleasurable moments actually being able to cause that much -

Hi.. I'm new to posting on forums. 22yr old with mild facial acne & moderate shoulder acne and realllly oily skin. Anyway, my acne's been fairly in control for awhile, w/a morning/night routine, along with prescription bodywash, and Differin, as well as prescription Ampicillin pills. So, onto my cosmetic dilemma... I'll try to be brief... I always bought Covergirl Fresh Look liquid foundation. It was oil free, had pretty much full coverage, and SPF 15, which I needed desperately (i'm rea
