  1. If he/she/it is charging money for it then it's almost definitely a scam. I mean, as an acne sufferer myself if I found a 'miracle' cure that worked in 3 days I would be on here in a flash to tell you all about it, probably handing it out on the streets too, making money from it would be the last thing on my mind.
  2. House dust is mostly made up from dead skin cells, and since a lot of acne is caused by dead skin cells that have not sloughed off properly (something like 50,000 a minute?) I was wondering if there was any way dust could cause or at least contribute to acne? I have searched this and found conflicting opinions, some say it is just a myth but also I have heard that dust mites can cause acne. Given the constant exposure to dust (especially if like me your social life isn't exactly thriving) whil
  3. Wouldn't that just destroy your skin as well? I can't imagine disabling your oil glands would be particularly good for your skin, acne or no.
  4. Thank you for sharing this with us, I'm sure it has helped many people, myself included. I was wondering, since this isn't a 'harsh' method and involves no chemicals, do you think it would be ok, maybe even better to use many times throughout the day, like 5 or 6 times (or more even) doing it lightly each time?
  5. Every event in our lives has an effect on who we are, but I do believe acne has had a huge impact on my personality. I am sure it has made me more humble, and more thoughtful than if I had never had it. It has also helped me realize the importance of being a genuine and honest person. In many ways I am glad I had/have acne because of the positive ways it has changed me, but I must admit it is getting rather tedious now, having to wake up every morning and see the inevitable mess that is my fa
  6. Whatever you are doing at the moment seems to be working pretty well, so I guess just stick with that, whatever you are most comfortable doing.
  7. I'm sorry to hear about your situation, and if it's any comfort, myself and probably the majority of people on this board know exactly how you feel and have similar problems. If it's particularly the stress that is getting you down then there is tons of stuff you can do for that, a quick google search will give you plenty of things to try. As for the rest I'm afraid there is not much I can say to really help, other than that life will go on regardless of any problems anyone has, so we might a
  8. Will this work just as well as ACV? From what I can tell there doesn't seem to be much difference except for the product it's originally made from.
  9. Thanks for the links. From the little I have experienced, I believe meditation is a very beneficial thing to do, especially in helping against the emotional side of acne.
  10. I know exactly what you are feeling. It is possibly the most painful part of acne (emotionally) because even with acne you can still get friends, and it doesn't matter if they secretly think you're ugly, but with someone you have a crush on, especially when they have clear skin, it puts you in a difficult situation. Although I am starting to come to the conclusion that unless the acne is on the point of clearing up then it's best just to go and talk to them, and try and be as charming as possib
  11. How about if you knock a few of her teeth out? Just kidding, but don't worry, there is probably some reason why she felt she had to make someone else feel bad, I would imagine she is very insecure about her own physical appearance.
  12. If you don't mind being direct with her about it, you could get her on some 'low impact' treatment, for example there was a thread on here about exfoliating with a brush to prevent excess skin build up (here http://www.acne.org/messageboard/index.php?showtopic=140618) I have found this to be a very good method, maybe if she started before acne breaks out it might stop it happening? There may be many other little things like this that help against acne, but do not involve any kind of medicating
