  1. Ylem! Same exact frickin thing happened to me! People always talk about micro swelling. But in my case, swelling was essentially gone after 3-5 days. All scars returned to normal, full frickin blast. I was absolutely heart broken. I had a journal but I accidenttly deleted it. But it was a depressing journal anyway, so maybe for the better haha. For some reason, I kept doing the total fx though. Probably cuz hope was all I could cling to. Anyway, ssecond Total FX wasn't much better. BU

  4. oh bug, if you do end up getting a fraxel repair, your comparison of the the two treatments would be invaluable. dudley has been saying for years fraxel repair is better (the rolling application it uses and the ability to go deeper) but many docs dont use it on its highest setting. still the rolling application enough seems to make it better. anyhoo id love to see your results :) Ha! I'd love to do it and report results. If I ever find a cure, I'll be the first one to come here n tell ev
  5. Definitely something worth considering. A couple months ago, I figured no more. But lately, I'm seeing how the deep scarring has reduced; I didn't expect the deep ones to even out at all, so this is pretty cool. But money is an issue right now. Also, I've heard the Re:pair is quite the stud. I'm gonna slowly gather info on that (esp pricing/packages). That'd be pretty sweet to be able to compare total fx w/ repair n give my story here...
  6. I gotta say, I'm starting to think that 'wait 3-6 months til collagen fills in' might actually ring true. Last time, I guessed maybe 30% improvement after my 3 Total FX sessions. But the other day I was driving around sunset time (when the sun hits you directly, and your scars look so bad from the side). My huge crater scars around my chin didn't look that deep anymore. I'm thinkin maybe 40-50% improvement! I stared and stared, but it looked much less deeper no matter what. I think the har
  7. Ylem and Dudley - Sorry about my neck info. I didn't really give out the full details of my experience, for lack of time. They always did active on my neck (the "blending" I think you mentioned). And the second and third times, they actually DID perform deep fx on my neck. But, they had to greatly lower the settings (both density and strength). Plus, I kinda think they made an exception for me, cuz I have kinda a lot of scarring on my neck and they could tell that it bothered me. Still, I
  8. hey! i did total fx three times as well. been about 2-3 months since my last one. long story short, i do see improvement, but nothing too DRASTIC. scars didn't disappear; they became less rigid. i have rolling/boxcar type. varying depths and sizes. i have to qualify my statement though (about the subtle improvement), so i'll do my best. i have scarring literally all over my face (from the top of my forehead to the bottom of my neck). my deepest scarring is on my temples and along
  9. hey random, thanks for the post. i just had my 3rd total fx done yesterday, and i really appreciate what you've been writing. cuz i had a little scare last night myself. the first 2 times i did total fx, i was given a petroluem-based dressing that i had to use for 3-4 days. i really hated that stuff. it made me drip all over for 3 days and it started to stink after a while. i also hated it b/c it was so thick that i thought, man if i have any microbes on my face, that stuff will just seal
  10. when i saw the title of the message, i had to jump in! haha. you may disagree with me, and that's A ok. you can ignore me. but i personally don't think that God is involved w/ acne scarring. of corse, you might believ in God and you might not. that's your opinion and you're entitled to it. i'm not here to judge you. THAT SAID, i think it's easier not to think of it in God terms, but more like chance. probability. someone has to have something, sometime. so why us? sheit SON. wh
  11. I thought it ruined my life, at the time. But in retrospect, it just sorta cost me about 10 years of life. It started in college, right off the bat. Horrible skin, which was completely new to me. I always had mild skin problems, but I controlled it well. Then college came, and I got MURDERED w/ acne. I never had a semester where I got to enjoy the freedom of walking around w/ good skin. Ha. It's pathetic. That was the worst, loneliest time I ever felt, easily. I shut myself off from e
  12. you also want to wait 20-30 minutes after you've washed up. to be sure that your skin is thoroughly dry. this particular medication loses its effectiveness when it reacts with water
  13. hi guys, ok, so i'm here to update my experience w/ total fx. but first, someone asked about subcision simultaneously. back in 2005, i did full face co2 resurfacing (they had to put me to sleep). so they put me to sleep, and did subcision on some of my larger scars, then immediately afterward they did the co2. so i imagine they could also do that for the fractional laser procedures. so i think if they do it, they can do it simultaneously, but if you don't do it at the same time, you migh
  14. hi, i did total fx and full face co2 resurfacing. all times, they gave me antivirals. i don't have herpes or cold sores or anything like that either. they just gave it to me as a precaution. actually, i'm kinda surprised that your doc doesn't give them to you just to be safe. i mean, your skin will be compromised for a bit, so you wanna keep it secure from potential agents. but then again, unless he provides you with the antivirals, they might be expensive. the money factor is the only re
